Description
"The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing,'Doc Bryan says,' is the men we’ve been fighting probably came here for the same reasons we did, to test themselves, to feel what war is like. In my view it doesn’t matter if you oppose or support war. The machine goes on."

Main Developer: Yuri 5.56
Co-Developer: Ruemc
Modding Assistant: Colonel Rooster, Bill Nye, Diesel

READ FIRST: Stand-alone mod. Do NOT use in conjunction with other mods that have similar massive overhauls, as it may inflict crashes.

This mod also includes an OPTIONAL (I say again, optional) EXTENDED RANGE ADDON within the mod directory which enhances the engagement range of weapons and units, and also REDUCED DC ACCURACY ADDON that significantly decreases accuracy of units under effect of direct control if you feel like direct control in the mod is too overpowered and trivialize the game. Refer to this discussion thread in order to find out how to implement them: Click here

For best gameplay experience, use Advanced Direct Control over Classic Direct Control and treat it as a tactical 1st/3rd person shooter within an RTS game.

Playing the single player/coop campaign missions first with this mod is recommended before playing Conquest in order to get the hang of how mechanics and features of the mod work.

Developers will not answer questions that have been asked and answered several times.

Current version: Version 1.05f

If you want to get Ghost Recon series or Insurgency: Sandstorm kind of gameplay within the Call to Arms RTS platform, then this mod is for you. That's it in a nutshell. Or if you just like to shoot ♥♥♥♥ virtually.

But if we go deeper than that, then let me describe it in a more thorough manner.

With more than 20k subscribers, it is time for the main developer to reveal the true intention of the mod.

Warfighter definition -- a soldier in combat; A person, especially a member of one of the US armed services deployed to an area of conflict, who is responsible for making decisions involving the use of military force.

In accordance to the title of the mod, many things from ballistics details to weapon handling, are based off input from dominantly US military veterans, primarily from the US Army and USMC, along with educational fun gun channels such as Garand Thumb, 9-Hole Reviews, TREX Arms, Tactical Rifleman, Polenar Tactical, Kalashnikov Concern, Spookston, and many more to list. The goal is to portray educational values correlating to that of the modern warfighter and its mindset, against contemporary threats and conflicts, while remaining fun to play. It is also a homage to those who have served valiantly in their duty to defend the American Constitution, as well as our allies. Even if it's an "American" mod, we ought to strive for unbiased technical details not based off political propaganda, but actual research and veteran inputs.

It's not a project for the sake of purely gaming. It's meant as a homage to service members who have given their best to serve with a warrior spirit, and a personal passion project based off the main developer's experiences as well.

Features include:
  • Overhauled weapon behaviors and performance based on realistic aspects. Do you know that 5.56x45 projectile actually fragments more within the human body than a 7.62x39? Yeah, it sure does. Ballistics is a pretty enticing subject.

  • Overhauled Advanced Direct Control views, featuring both 1st person and 3rd person views, on both infantry and vehicles.

  • Overhauled breed weapon skill and veterancy levels, which now scale from 1-10 instead of 1-5. Your average US Army 11B infantryman is most likely a better shooter than your average GRM fighter.

  • Overhauled vehicle performance, armament, and behavior. A Western MBT such as the Abrams or Leopard 2 is gonna reverse much faster than a Soviet/Russian MBT like the T-72. New vehicle ammunition, ranging from latest M829A4 Sabot projectiles to M830A1 MPAT in US Army M1A2 SEPs to 3BM60 Sabot within Russian tanks such as T-72B3s. Different vehicles have different stabilizer bonuses, and certain vehicles can have 1000-2000 round belts attached into their coaxial MG as a part of their design feature. Vehicle damage system is no longer heavily reliant on hitpoints.

  • Asymmetrical warfare. Your T-80BV only has access to inferior projectiles which won't penetrate an M1A2 SEP frontally unless you hit a weak spot such as the mantlet, or your UAF Abrams tanks have worse armor and ammunition compared to US Army Abrams. Deal with it, war isn't fair. There won't be buffing or nerfing an equipment performance for the sake of balance -- it'll still based on realistic values.

  • Overhauled factions as a whole. New units, new vehicles, reorganized infantry squads and equipment. You won't see AK-74s being widespread within the GRM and UAF anymore since good luck finding enough 5.45x39 in the Middle East in general. Meanwhile, you'll see a lot of M16s and M4s seeing widespread use by both sides, former US military stocks or supplies, on top of the many different AKs in 7.62x39 for the GRM. Meanwhile, US forces use newer M855A1 EPR loads in their M4A1s and use new, smoother, more reliable magazines such as EPM or Pmags (translates to faster reloads in-game)

  • New FX, descriptions, animations, skins, and sounds which are still WIP.

  • Conquest, AI, and multiplayer adjustments to accommodate the new features.

  • Revamped vanilla campaign missions (work with DLC missions too). Works with campaign missions and custom user-made missions (provided there is no change to gameplay files and mechanics in said mission mods). BE ADVISED: You need to have the DLCs in order to have access to the GRM, German, and Russian campaigns.

  • AirLand Warfare mission compatibility with this addon: Click here

  • Many more changes too many to list.

This mod is still in early phase of development, so it's nowhere near final.

You know, UCP is already fully outphased by OCP. US soldiers aren't even allowed to wear UCP anymore.
