Notice that You NEED the mods in the requirements tab installed and enabled, otherwise this mod Is not going to work properly.

This mod adds the Imperial Dwarfs for all of the major Empire factions.
Imperial Dwarfs are all of those Dwarfs that have left behind their Karak-kin believing that the defence of the last Dwarfholds Is a lost cause and thus they choose to start a new life with the Manlings of the Empire.
This Is not surprising if we consider that the Dwarf kind feels an enduring debt to Sigmar and his heirs since the battle of Black Fire Pass.
While this choice has caused some "problematic relations™" with the Karak Dwarfs, the Imperial Dwarfs successfully managed to preserve their original culture,religion and language and also managed to integrate with the imperial society.
As a matter of fact, Imperial Dwarfs are considered the “second people” of the Empire, its most important race outside of Humanity itself.
Since We are mainly interested in the military portion: Imperial Dwarfs have served in provincial and Imperial armies for over four millennia and even helped Magnus The Pious against the hordes of Chaos.
They are known as steadfast troops who are proficient in the use of spears, pikes, and handguns.
*Considering that all of this data Is from Warhammer Fantasy RPG 2nd and 4th editions Is entirely up to You to decide if this mod Is Lore friendly or not.*
Ok, introduction over: let's talk about the mod now.

This mod adds all of the following units for the Empire:
-Imperial Dwarf Warriors
-Imperial Dwarf Nobles
-Imperial Dwarf Warriors (Spears & Shields)
-Imperial Dwarf Handgunners
-Imperial Dwarf Halberdiers
They also have custom officers, shields, weapons and banners.

To avoid possible Empire AI Dwarf doomstacks and to remark the fact that these Dwarfs should be used as limited support troops to reinforce the Imperial army, they are all capped at 4.
They are all available through the main Empire's barrack and forge building chains, You'll also need a tier 1 Smith.

*BALANCE*
Statwise They are not very different from vanilla Dwarfs so I'm pretty sure that they are vanilla friendly.
NOTICE: The units' stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP and unit models if you are playing on Ultra.

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
I'm playing the game with 100+ different mods and everything is working fine!
The mod is NOT save compatible.
If you want these Imperial Dwarfs in your campaign you'll have to start a new one.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-Imperial Dwarf Warriors (Spears & Shields) may show black textures around the neck area while performing the phalanx ability and/or normal combat.
-While zooming out from units with plumed helmets and hats the feathers will briefly change into weird black objects until you zoom in again, I suspect that It's a LOD problem but sadly I can't fix that, sorry.
-While under the Phalanx formation ability, few medium units (e.g. Orcs) will be able to hit the dwarfs while their shorts arms won't be able to reach their foes.
One solution is to let the phalanx absorb the charge and then disable the formation.
-Banners and Shields only: Variable image quality and some images may look more washed-out or darker than others.
-While the banner officer for the Imperial Dwarf Warriors (Spears & Shields) Is compatible with the phalanx ability He will need some time to reposition himself at the very back of his units.
-Some clipping here and there, especially with capes.

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif

When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*
-"No Sigmar or other imperial deities symbols?"
Yup.
Imperial Dwarfs do venerate the ancestor Gods and nothing else.
If an Imperial city have a Dwarf district chances are that It's also going to have temples dedicated to the ancestor Gods.
-"No Bretonnia?"
Empire-like Only at the moment.
-"What about X custom Human faction?"
While I'm not against the possibility of making these units available for Custom factions they actually require specific mods for them to work so don't expect to see these units with Cataph's Southern Realms factions or Kislev Reborn after subbing to this mod.
If there Is a demand for It and if the mod Is well received I'll think about further expanding the compatibility of this mod.
-"Imperial Dwarf Halberdiers are using their weapons like hammers!"
That's because they are using the stock vanilla hammerers' animation.
-"Bannerless version?"

And on top of that the last regular update for Warhammer 2 was the 1.21.1 cavalry update in November 2021 while this mod was released after that in 2022.
Realistically, all Warhammer 2 updates after 2021 were launcher updates to advertise other/new Total War games, so I highly doubt that there is a need for an update here.
And even if *somehow* CA managed to make mods outdated after 2021 mods' functionality would still be unaffected.

Warhammer 2 development ended long ago and I have updated all of my mods before leaving.

I don't mod Warhammer 2 anymore and I have been retired from SFO submodding long before then, so don't expect anything from me in that regard.
As far as I know no other SFO submodder made an SFO submod for this mod.

Yeah, I'll most definitely use the Dwarf Polearms mod as new requirement for the Warhammer 3 port of this mod.
I'm still going to mark it as BETA though, since that custom animation is still a work in progress.

Of course.
I'll have to port this without the Dwarf phalanx ability though.
So the Imperial Dwarf Warriors (Spears & Shields) will not behave as intended and they are going to use the generic axe+shield animation which will probably look silly.
When the official port launches in WH3 will be marked as BETA until someone makes a new Dwarf Phalanx animation or manage to port Toumaï's one.
