Description
Compatible with Beta 1.8.10+

Compute is a mod to allow super in-depth and advanced computer component creation. Compute adds many new types of hardware, alongside software/firmware, contracts a few add-ons and 1 furniture item. The goal was to create an experience similar to vanilla software inc, that still allows for large expansion. Many hardware features go super far with detail to allow for a rich experience.

Compute allows for development of every single common computer component. Additionally, it allows for you to develop computers themselves. Including Desktops, Laptops and All In One PCs. The advanced details of many components such as the Graphics card which has over 80 optional features makes for an ever evolving experience.

  • Graphics Card - Important Component for 3D modelers, gamers & Video editors.

  • CPU - Brain of the computer, if you don't have this; you have no pc.

  • RAM - Takes stuff from your storage fast. So your CPU can quickly access it.

  • Desktop - Computer for the desk.

  • Laptop - Computer for the Lap

  • All In One - Computer with no extra steps.

  • Motherboard - The body of every computer, you plug ever component into this.

  • Power Supply - Converts AC power from the wall to DC power so your computer can run.

  • HDD - Old Mechanical Storage, slow, yet, high capacity for cheap.

  • SSD - Advanced, Fast, and slightly more expensive than an HDD.

  • CPU Cooler - The brain can get hot, so this helps cool it.

  • Zinc Thermal Paste - Cheaply bridges the gap between the CPU Cooler & CPU

  • Liquid Metal - Efficiently bridges the gap between the CPU Cooler & CPU

  • Mini Board - Need some Extra USB Slots?

  • Fan - Spins for airflow

  • Transistor Module - The basic building blocks a CPU, can be ON or OFF.

  • Computer Case - Technically Optional. Put your pc components in here.

  • Asic Miner - An advanced Crypto Miner.

  • VRAM - Super Fast Memory, but, for a Graphics Card

  • Expansion Card - Software for Mini Boards.

  • GPU - This is to balance the mod. The GPU is easy to develop allowing a jump-start to first production.

  • Graphics Card Miner - Mining Software like Nicehash for users to get Crypto

  • Game Streaming Service - Paid Service; allows for users to play games at high settings over the internet.

  • Specialized Cores - Add-On for the Graphics Card, Similar to RTX cores for NVIDIA GPUs

  • Heat Spreader - Add-On for RAM, helps to cool the RAM Itself, and looks cool while doing it.

  • Specialized Cores - Starts low with basic Dev, slowly advanced to full Render Scenes $7K - $400K+

Compute is compatible with almost all mods. I have tested and verified that Compute is compatible with Expanse so don't be afraid to run both!

Compute is incompatible with only mods that do the exact same thing with the exact same names as Compute. So a Mod titled Computer Hardware is likely to be incompatible simply as they do the same thing. However, mods that are at-least slightly different should still be compatible. Don't be afraid to try things out!

Hello, nice mod... Would it be possible for you to make it available for translation in the localizor? I would love to translate it into Brazilian Portuguese. Sincerely, CGames.

I havent worked on this mod in so long man.
Ill fix the cyrpto: I thought it was at like 2015.

I am a full time student who also has a great part time job; so, Ive barely got any time to work on my passion projects.

Compute isnt getting support anymore unless the mod breaks completely, the sequel to this is what I have been working on and its pretty freakin cool. When I have time to I will continue working on that, I am too far out to promise a release date, but a ton of the basics are complete.

Is there any way you can hardlock crypto, laptops and a whole bunch products for later in the game? there's no reason it should be available in 1980s-1990s and companies spitting out products in that field so early in the game.

Agree with @Jack's observations.

Im not sure if I did something wrong but I can't seem to enable the manufacturing line for any type of computer because it either says theres no CPU on the market when there are or that the CPU I made is not compatible. The message doesnt change when trying to make a desktop, laptop, or all in one computer with both a PC or Laptop CPU available. I also noticed that no other company seems to have released a computer assumingly because without the manufacturing line the interest levels are so low. Any advice?

Cool mod but the AI just seems to pump out software and then go bankrupt until you have like one company with 4 billion worth in 1985 because its acquired all the bankrupt companies.

Also seems to do funny things in the market when there's like 1 company with 400 products and a few others with 100.
