Alters the vanilla chainsaw and mining drill to be less overpowered OR more overpowered, if you wish.


  • Chainsaw: Weight reduction when equipped by 75% for: wood, hide, cactus sap, scrap metal, element dust, oil, electronics, black pearls, raw meat, thatch(enabled by default).
  • No additional weight reductions for the mining drill.
  • Increase or Decrease harvesting multiplier(Half as effective by default).
  • Does not unequip when opening player inventory.
  • Can be used underwater(disabled by default).
  • Can use while running.
  • Does NOT add a new custom chainsaw.
  • Does NOT remap the chainsaw.
  • Does NOT add a new custom mining drill.
  • Does NOT remap the mining drill.
  • This simply edits the vanilla original chainsaw and mining drill when used.
  • No spawn codes required.


Equip chainsaw or mining drill. Have fun.

HarvestingMultiplier=0.5


AllowUnderwaterUsage: If true, can be equipped and used underwater. Default: False
HarvestingMultiplier: Lower values results in lower harvesting potential. 2.0 would be twice as effective as vanilla. 0.1 would be 10x less effective. Default: 0.5
AllowWeightReduction: If true, reduces weight of common harvestables by 75% when the chainsaw is equipped. Default: true

gods damnit, thank you XD I kept seeing various mods say game.ini, not gameusersettings.ini so I'm guessing I either didn't realize the file was different lol.

Game.ini is the wrong place. Configs go in GameUserSettings.ini

for clarification, I confirmed the mod works because I get half the resources from using a chainsaw on a tree, so the mod *is* actively working in the server. I even added the Fast Ammo Changer mod and confirmed that's working. It's specifically the ini that doesn't seem to be working.

dumb question, but I put the config lines from this into the gportal server game.ini and changed the underwater part to true and still can't get it to work... What am I doing wrong? I'd really just like to use the mining drill and chainsaw underwater...

thats why i told that little story bout the time I tried with CT some mods you think won't affect sometimes either don't work or like what happened to me killed the game so i had to reload the game from Zero to fix it.

0.5 is my new default, which halves the harvesting rate. 1.0 would be vanilla. I see no reason this mod wouldn't work with upgrade station.

ok so I'm assuming not tested with upgrade station mod & I was asking if 0.5 is reduced or vanilla rate or if 1.0 is vanilla (Not Edited) rate

@Torkkar I have no idea what most of what you said means. This swaps out the dmg types on the chainsaw/drill to a custom one, one that I edited harvesting multipliers on. If you have an ascendant chainsaw and this mod(with increased rates), you'll get extra harvesting resources.

so if I want my CFG for this to be normal vanilla harvesting the number on the multiplyer should be 1.0? or is 0.5 normal vanilla rate?

also have you tested this with the upgrade bench mod? Cause I really don't want to have to Zero ARK out again by deleting it over night then reinstall the next night & redo the .ini changes that are needed to fix WC over sites (Gen1 no-flying yet flyers are there) & shit.

& that was to fix a crash between CT Reusable & upgrade station when I tryed to upgrade the CT climbing pick.
