Europa Romanorum: 120 AD, a campaign mod for the Europe 270 BC map!

Europe of the Barbarians?
No, in this campaign mod Europe is of the Romans!

This campaign takes place in the year 120 AD.
Emperor Hadrianus reigns the Roman Empire, which in 120 AD was at it's height of it's power.

In this campaign, the timeline and events that follow alter history.

Emperor Hadrianus is now assasinated, and the Romans are without a leader!
Who assasinated Emperor Hadrianus?
Three very powerful Roman families are suspect, all three having a significant military support in different parts of the Roman Empire.
The Julii have the support of the Legions stationed in Western Europe, Norhtern Italy and Egypt.
The Scipii have the support of the Legions stationed in Spain, Northern Africa and the Italian Islands.
The Brutii have the support of the Legions stationed in Greece, Anatolia and Asia.
In the events that follow from the assasination, the Julii seize control of Rome.
The Brutii and the Scipii ally together against the Julii to free Rome from the new Julian dictator!

During these events, many vassal states see the opportunity of this power vacuum, and decide to revolt, many early conquered tribes see their moment to gain indepence.
The Gauls, Iberians, Greeks, Macedonians, Thracians and Carthaginians gathered up arms and reclaimed a little territory already.
The Jewish people near and in Israel also revolt, this faction is represented by the Egyptians.
These revolts will prove to be difficult for the Romans to suppress.

The Germans, Britons, Scythians, Pontic Kingdom, Armenians, Parthians and Numidians have not lost any territory but are upset with the Romans, and decide to continue or start a war with the Romans and their ever expanding Empire!
The Seleucids have been diminished to only holding a little territory in modern Arabia, but are looking to restore the legacy of Alexander.

Be aware that while public order is at least mediocre to high, the upkeep of all armies in this campaign can drain your finances, so make sure to raise your taxes, conquer enemy settlements (exterminate if you have to) or disband redundant soldiers for a positive net income.

This mod has been made to give the player the ability to fight as a Roman family, with plenty of battles and territories to conquer from the other Roman families.
However for an additional challenge the option exist to play as any of the other factions as well, making for a difficult but interesting challenge to fight against the Romans, having limited territory and funds available, but strong initial armies to have you revolt turn into an actual empire.

(!) Make sure to download the Europa 270 BC Map here, and put 'Europa Romanorum 120AD' on top of 'Europa 270BC map' in the mod launcher, as it is a requirement to play this campaign.

Judeau isn't a playable faction in this mod.
All factions are the same factions as in the vanilla game.

Hi Marcus Antonius,

Glad to hear it works and that you like the mod.

Regarding your question, I personally find the 270 BC map big enough to play on with sufficient regions, especially compared to Vanilla.
When I started making campaigns on this map (20 months ago or so) only 270 BC and Mundus Magnus existed at that time.
Of course I could start modifying one of the huge maps that existed lately but I don't have the free to make all the time consuming changes again.

I still would like to recommend you the Total Rebalance 2 Ultimate Bundle as the 6 playable campaigns offer a lot of variety in campaigns and the added new units balance changes are pretty neat.

I forgot to tick the snapshot mod, hehe, great mod. would you consider using a bigger map with more regions?

Ave Marcus Antonius,

Thanks for your comment.

Could you let me know which other mods you have enabled alongside this mod?
Did you follow the following step, as in, installing Europa 270 BC mod and using the correct mod order?

(!) Download "Europa 270 BC" mod and put "Europa Romanorum 120AD" on top of " "Europe 270 BC" in the mod launcher.

Maybe it's easier if you just subscribe to the following mod instead, which comes prepackaged with Europa 270 BC and adds a few other campaigns as well:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2950340481

In case you want to play with the Total Rebalance 2 mod enabled you could even go for this mod:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3004910214

Probably (my suggestion) you should just choose to go with either of the last two links I posted, as they are prepackaged and don't have other mod dependencies, and contains the latest update. ( in fact I even recommend the last one more)

Let me know if any of these steps worked out for you.

I can enter into game menu, then when trying to start a campaign nothing happens

All right cool, it was just a suggestion, I think he could add his mod in other mods, it migh get more hardwork but it would greatly popularize his mod, and even maybe attract Jewish players (which feels they are kind absent in total war games, I agree with that, they are absent, the only exception they are is in Rome 2 Imperator Augustus DLC)

That's a really good idea!

It's not technically impossible, but it would break save games if I would do it directly in this mod, and then also make it incompatible with other unit mods, such as Rome Rerostered, which I also made.
A better idea would be to make a special patch version for the Total Rebalance Campaign Bundle (which has my unit pack and map pack pre-included), but even then it would take some effort to manualy patch everything into that campaign bundle and verify if the change doesn't break anything.

Alongside working a job, it just takes a bit too much effort for me to implement it, even though I think it would be very cool to have that faction included, I really like the idea... maybe if I have a long holiday or a lot of spare time I will look into it..
Just in case, I asked Dagovax whether he would allow for his content to be re-used in other mods.

Thank you for your suggestion :)
