Description
Practical Anchor mk 6

This is a heavy duty anchor for kedging (anchor pulling) medium craft or lifting deep sea objects.

The size is still "practical" in that it will fit in door ways. Thus you can use a horizontal door as a deck hatch to store this.

The weight is so close to the swimming limit that it wasn't safe report more than one specific mag locks being connected. Bear in mind it only reports if that specific centre maglocks is engaged. You may get a grip without that being one of them. Certainly if you have a full six contact it will be engaged. It is possible to have only 3 or 4 of the maglocks engaged and get a positive on report. To change that would take a microcontroller of at least 7 spaces thus mass 7 which makes swimming with this difficult and prone to the player taking drowning damage. This size, with only one mag reporting, keeps swimming effective to go up for air.

Tips:
= It still advisable to wear underwater gear or bring an oxygen handheld when handling this.
= The carry handle is placed to reduce accidental disconnecting the electrical cable
= Rope anchors are present for storing on deck or using this as a mooring anchor for other objects. It will still need power through the electrical cable to keep the mag locks going.
= You can grab onto one of the maglocks as well. Two handed carry is much better at getting through horizontal doors used as deck hatches. Most of the time one handed carry is fine and is better for swimming.
= Weight is distributed so it usually falls upright for all six contacts on a level floor if you last let go of the handle.

I have unbeached a 11,000 mass boat using this as the main rear puller and a pair of one mag lock anchors on the sides. The latter also serve to limit risks of rolling over.

My workshop has various other anchors either decorative or of a practical game play design.

Links for my anchors:

Practical Mk 1 and 2 are on the workship with associated parts already hooked up as a source to copy-paste from. Those being the microcontroller, instrument panel and a toggle button.

Meant to be used with my anchor microcontroller, a 4 gauge instrument panel and a separate toggle button for the maglock. Composite data is
1: indicator for maglock connected
2: button up to winch up/in
3: dial for winch length (20 for medium, 100 for large)
4: button down for winch down/out

Practical ones focus on game function over appearance for best game play performance.
Appearance ones are designed to look like real anchors while still working as best they can.

Practical Anchor Mk 1 Standard
Very reliable in making contact on uneven sea floors with its quirky shape that still can be moved through doors and up 1 to 1 ramps.

Practical Anchor Mk 2 Thin
Thinner smaller shape for use on smaller craft or as spare anchors you might not ever need

Appearance Anchor Mk 3 Pretty
Shaped to look more like a real anchor, which may affect its ability to get contact in Steamworks. We don’t have real muddy sea bottoms in game so the side spades may cause unwanted tilts on what is in essentially solid rock

Practical Anchor Mk 4 Shaft
A narrow one block tube design for easy storage and for uses with lifting cranes. Remember to target the mag all for handheld carrying.

Practical Anchor Mk 6 Heavy
The heavy anchor and lifter with 6 mag locks, hence the mk 6 designation. This is the largest size that was deemed safe to swim with. Awkwardly still goes through sliding doors used as horizontal deck hatches.
