Reequip Secondary

Description
Compatible with version 42.0.2 and 41.76 (solo & multiplayer).

This mod lets you automatically re-equip your secondary item (bag, flashlight, etc.) whenever you switch back from your 2-handed weapon.
In other words, you can be carrying a nightstick and a bag, pull out your spear to kill a couple of zombies and then switch back to your nightstick. Your bag will automatically be re-equipped as well.

Features
  • easily swap between 1-handed + secondary and 2-handed weapons
  • hold Shift when swapping to your 2-handed weapon to drop your secondary on the ground. Useful if it's a heavy bag you don't want to keep in your inventory while you fight
  • hold Shift when swapping back to your 1-handed weapon to automatically walk and pick up the dropped secondary
  • double tap 1 to toggle between 2 two-handed weapons (e.g. have shovel in hand, single tap 1 to pull out bat, double tap 1 to pull out shovel again)

Enjoy!

if you want to be the first person to comment o7 then at least say if it was added to vanilla or not. and mention a version. Otherwise it's just annoying and confusing

Hey folks, I’m currently working on the B42 update. I’d like to keep the mod simple and minimal, but let me know if you think it can be improved.

@[TP2] Albrekdt sure

Thanks for trying, belette! Is it ok if I just copy your response to Fancy Handwork and see if they can do something about this?

@O'shovah @[TP2] Albrekdt I looked at fixing compatibility with Fancy Handwork. Unfortunately, FH takes over the ISHotbar.equipItem method without letting other mods hook in. It might be a simple mistake because, in the code, it looks like they were trying to actually have compatibility with other mods.

There's nothing I can do on my end, but it might be a one-line fix on Fancy Handwork's end. Simply calling the unused `_ISHotbar_equipItem(self, item)` variable they have seems to do the right thing. I'm guessing there's a reason why they don't do it, but it might just be an oversight. You can try asking them.
