Mini vHUD

Description
basically V.O Minimal HUD but my take (or a closer to vanilla one)

As the title suggests, this reduces the size of the vanilla hud to be more optimized. To be as compact as it is currently, the hud uses some custom cleaned up vanilla assets. But doesn't stray too far away from vanilla. Inspired by ʟɪᴇϙᴜᴅᴇ's V.O Minimal HUD. These addons are not were not used as a base. I asked for permission anyways from him, he said it was cool.

For those who prefer a vertical hud, there is an alternative version.

The changes include:
(or just take a look at the screenshots)
  • Teammate panels now have health number and IDLE indicator.
  • Local player panel now uses the teammate panel as well.
  • Slightly smaller and darker chat box.
  • Smaller scoreboard for all gamemodes.
  • Progress bar is little bit smaller as well.
  • Reduced survival timer and results panel.
  • Support for versus and scavenge (Just a few elements).
  • More compact level transition screen.
  • Weapon panel doesn't show items (instead above your health).
  • Custom crosshair support, look at this collection by ʟɪᴇϙᴜᴅᴇ. Be aware, it's breaks splitscreen because this hud places the crosshair in localplayerpanel.

Q: What is different from V.O Minimal?
A: To sum it up:
(Again, the addon wasn't used as a base.)
  • Scoreboard is closer to vanilla (no background on campaign title, and survivor panels aren't shrunk).
  • Survival mode is closer to vanilla (no red outline on timer and is slightly bigger. Results screen is closer to vanilla).
  • Loading screen top bar is more compact. V.O Minimal doesn't have a custom loading screen at all.
  • Progress bar is cleaned up and isn't as small as V.O Minimal Reduced or Reduced HUD.
  • Survivor panel and infected panel don't have splats around them anymore (expect for the incap panels).
  • Survivor panels are very close to each other.
  • Survivor panels have reduced spacing between items, and incap panels have the health ontop instead of next to name.
  • Top panel is removed for when you are dead as a survivor.
  • Doesn't include custom temp health bar by default.
  • Weapon panel doesn't remove ammo icon. It is slightly smaller and have some of the text moved.
  • Versus mode is supported (including the scoreboard, ghost panel, and infected panels).
  • Scavenge mode is supported (scoreboard, and no splats on timer).
In the end, think of this addon as a kind of personal flavour of V.O Minimal. I held onto this for a while (and slowly worked on it). Uploading it to the workshop for anyone who might enjoy.

Q: How do I load the addon in versus/scavenge? Addons are disabled there!
A: If you want to use the hud's versus features you either have to disable addons for your local server or load the addon via gameinfo. On the gameinfo guide, jump straight to 'Install Steps Of GameInfo Method', replace the example addon with this one.

Recommend addons:
Not necessary, but improves the hud.

I can't respond to every "Good Addon" comment, but know if you do post it. I'll read it, and I do thank you for all the support.

@♮Kᴏᴜsᴇɪ ❦ Ah, well,, enjoy then. Glad you found the problem :P
@yird Yesterday in 2 hours I found the bug, it was the local player panel, but the health bar was erased and the purple texture error was removed, but I already solved it, thanks for responding.

@♮Kᴏᴜsᴇɪ ❦ Feel free to send a link and I can try to look at it. Haven't done l4d2 work for a while though.
Hi, I have a problem with the mod, it conflicts with my diamond crosshair, the purple no textures appear, do you know which file it could be?

@Antonio115 You'll find the vgui images in pak01_dir.vpk in the left4dead2 folder.
Using GCFScape to open the VPK file, you will find the survivor panel images in materials\vgui\hud

I forgot what the file is named but it should be something along the lines of 'survivor'.

Oh yeah just saying additionally. I would of look online for these questions, that I am asking here. Although I could not find a tutorial for specifically l4d2 hud making. Just ones about other source games. So sry about that.

I assuming the splats, which are are "colored backgrounds" when you load up the health bar texture. Teammate or player. (Which is something about the survivors). Sorry, my issue is not the logic of how to remove it per say. More of finding that exact file, and part of the texture I need to edit. Would I be correct saying it is the colored backgrounds? Anyway thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

@Antonio115 I just edited the survivor panels and removed the splats, simple as that.
You can use VTFEdit to export the panels out, and then edit them with a program like Paint.Net
