Description



Hello there i have ever been disappointed at the lack of shields in the game? Or the fact so few weapons can use them?
I do so decided to do something about it .





This mod adds a settings menu to customise witch weapons can use VEF shields system it includes melee and ranged weapons .
It also adds 4 Shield types:

Spartan Shield:

Armour: 50 sharp 50 blunt 35 heat

-0.25 movement speed, -1 Melee doge chance -2 Ranged Accuracy.

Ballistic shield :

Armour: 72 sharp 85 blunt 65 heat,

-0.15 movement speed, -1 Melee doge chance -1 Ranged Accuracy.

Advanced shield :

Armour: 120 sharp 120 blunt 75 heat

No Penalties

Archotech shield: -- This is a reward

Armor:150 sharp 150 blunt 55 heat,

+0.30 movement speed boost, +1 Accuracy Boost +1 Melee Doge chance





Using the settings is very simple , go to mod options and look for Shields and search for the weapon you want to enable or disable (note all melee weapons are enabled by default) , there are also melee and ranged filters .








Why when there are other shields mods out there?

-Because i either did not like them or their not maintained to my standards .

Why the default setting is on for all melee weapons including dual handed weapons?

-Because code wise there's no distinction between them unfortunately.


I can already hear the keyboards of the CE army coming . so CE?

-I do not make CE patches , your free to make your own .

I've tried multiple times to rearrange my mod list but nothing seems to work. It just seems to ignore the setting entirely.

I have the shield mod at the bottom of my list... no dice... setting is still being ignored

Is anyone else having an issue where the weapons you designate as not being usable with shields are being ignored and used with shields anyway??

You need to modify the file located at 1.5\Defs\Shields.xml inside the mod directory.

Open Shields.xml with a text editor (such as Notepad) and replace every instance of “VFECore” with “VEF.Apparels”.

I can confirm, from my initial testing, the shield toggle only affect weapons "above" this mod. So manually drop it down to the bottom of your mod list, like right above Rocketman/Dubs Performance.

Shit, I was just about to add this to my modlist, not gonna risk it, hope it gets fixed... somehow, because I don't see anyone posting logs.
