Hello, I want to give some update on this mod.
I haven't touched the modding tools for years, now, so this mod isn't maintained optimally.

There were some questions about compatibility issue with other mods that change race data - which this mod edits, since that was initially how new heads (helmets) graphic were added to the character creation menu.

As the result, the mods overwrite one another.

Another member @qududuq recently made a [Re-compatibility] version that should work nice with those other mods.
Please take a look and that mod, and use it instead especially if you are having compatibility issues
I believe you do not need my mod for that, so please use that instead.

I thought about privating my mod, but I am worried it might cause issues for those who were already subscribed, so I am just going to leave it as it is now.

Please read until the end as well as disclaimer about the small issues with huge number of face/head selection.


MAIN FEATURE
This mod add assortment of headgear for Human, Wilderi (because their headgear is similar to human by default), Scurio (only 9). It adds helmets; Knight-ish helmets, gladiator looking helmets, some assassin-like hoods, Captain tricone, some weird looking helmet, and some "what did I even make" helmet. Most of the looks good, so it might make your adventure fancier.

Not all of them work though, clipping issues. Give it a try.

Because the original mod is for humans, them and wilderi got 43 selections (a few alternate version , so it isn't all unique)
Scurio get 9 selection (same, not all uniques)


WHAT'S WITH THE EMPTY FACE
This mod also add 2 heads/face (I forgot how much scurio got):
1. No face. For some of the full head helmet. You don't want eyes floating.
2. One-eye face. Might look good with some of the hood or helmet.

Mix and match it with the helmet.

WHAT'S WITH THE DUPLICATE/ALTERNATES?
There are several version of the same helmet; it differs in the color. Usually there is 2-3 version.
One usually change color depending on your ARMOR (ex. Mythil gives it mythril color)
One usually change color depending on your CLOTH color (in the edit/creation menu)
There might be a last variation with different shading - making it seem like the helmet have stronger shading and all.

Try out and see which one you like best.
To clarify, it is not 43 unique helmet; there are multiple variation for some of them.

DISCLAIMERS

FIRST, This mod add a lot of new head and face into the game. As the result, they are added into the random pool for the new sailors your can recruit in the bars. This can... cause some weird combination.

For example, the sailors you can recruit might have no face because they got the "no face" face. Just edit them.
Some helmet doesn't work with some color combination (it looks ugly, but preference) so you might see some of those because of the randomness. Enjoy.

SECOND, It add a lot of new head, so human have like, 70 options in total with original. You might have to click a lot to find the one you like.

I also remember that if your head count goes >100, there might be a glitch in the number shown (too much selection). As far as I know, that won't break your game just annoying. To be safe, just don't go that much - there is still a lot of empty slot anyway even with this mod.

This is also why I am hesitant to add new Head pieces.

And no, unfortunately I have no plan to add new ones for the other races at the moment. There are excellent ones from others in the workshop though!

ABOUT
This mod is an old mod of mine from pre-workshop days of Horizon Gate. Recently someone asked me about it not working properly (you can download it from the mod forum) - you need to make a folder for the content in the Mods folder instead of what the readme says because it was outdated etc etc. Not good.

So I just make it available from Workshop, so yeah, get it here instead. It's the same mod - and might have added some stuff. I can't really remember that part.

As mentioned in the new entry above (on 04/03/2025), this mod hasn't been maintained properly because I haven't touched the modding tools for years.

As such, there are some compatibility issues with another mods that I couldn't work out.

@Qududuq made a new [Re-Compatibility] version recently, which seems to work nicely with other mods. You do not need my mod for it to work, i think.

Hey there, it has been a long while since I fiddled with modding aspect of this game so I am not really up to date with it anymore.

There is not really any plan to update it or anything (maybe if I play the game again,but I can't promise that) - and I am not familiar with that solution either (I heard about that command but I never tried using it myself).

(Note: This mod also predate the workshop, I only converted the manual install to workshop convenience)

Sorry about that, but I am glad you found a solution to that. I must admit, this is the first time (that I can recall) that someone talked about it being conflicting with other mod.

Hopefully others who face the same issue can try the same method.

Can you please make this so it doesn't have the race's stats in the files? It will override the racial overhauls if it loads after, and the racial overhaul will remove this mods heads if loaded before. It will also not play nice with anything else that gives extra parts due to this.

I fixed it myself by copying what Wilderi Extras does; deleting everything in your definitions except things starting with bodyPartSprites and the first line, and then adding an appropriate "cloneFrom=RACEHERE;" to the entry after the [actortype], so you might want to do that.
