General Motors 12-645 Series Engine

Description
-General Motors EMD 12-645E3C Supercharged 2-stroke diesel engine for ATS 1.43*.
-Works with the following trucks:

- All SCS Trucks
- Peterbilt 350

This engine can only be found on 1 type of locomotive in Australia and I thought it'll be cool having it in a truck, the recordings where done by someone else and modified for ATS by me.

Real life specs of the engine is 235 RPM low idle (fuel saving) at 16 litres/hr, 315 RPM idle at 22 litres/hr to 907 RPM full at 421 litres/hr.

It's rated 2,250hp into the main alternator with 18,000Nm torque, rpm has been altered for Trucks and fuel recaculated for, 500 to 3000 rpm and 600 to 1,100 litre tanks, in real life the locomotive has a 6,800 litre tank and has fuel for it to run Melbourne to Adelaide also powering a 8v92t 415 volt AC alternator.

Also requires Lv.50+ sorry I never mentioned it before.

Just like the GM 6-71, the sounds only play after quitting the game and reloading it, I've got no idea why, maybe it's the format they're saved as, probably not 100% supported by FMod.

If you want it added into a modded Truck I'll need the asset filename.

(Updated 02-12-2023)

I'm still one of those people on Windows 7 and I'll be building a new computer next year, this one is already close to 7 years old.

Addional information:

These engines are in fact classified as Supercharged, how this system works is it's pretty much a engine with a Turbo however it's not really a Turbo since it has a gear drive connected to the timing gear which spin the turbo turbine making it "Supercharged", when the engine is running at fuel saving mode "235 rpm" the gear is spinning the turbine at what would be normal speed if the engine was at 307 rpm and makes a "ying, ying, ying" sound you tend to hear on all none Roots-blown engines, the gear drive still spins the turbine up until the throttle is around Notch 6 and above then the exhaust gases speed it up creating more power making it a Turbo, when you move the throttle below Notch 6 it goes back to being gear driven, this also eliminates "turbo lag" as it's instant response with the engine speed.

Cheers.

The engine seams to run in reverse. when I put it in a forward gear with any transmission, the truck goes backwards, and the goes forwards if in a reverse gear. also, while in gear, it stalls almost immediately after getting to 1300 rpm, making the engine unusable.

Not supercharged. Like the detroits, the blower does no charging of the air, its simply there to blow air into the cylinders when they reach the bottom of the stroke and the fresh air port is exposed and the exhaust valves are open. They are considered a naturally aspirated engine

I know of the issue and been looking into it for the past week, the 671NE engine has the same problem, not sure on the cause and still investigating why some engines have a run-away effect.

mostly seems to be ignition & running issues PLEASE TEST & get back to me when they are done.

I will re-subscribe to u'r mod AGAIN when I have been informed that it's been fixed.
