Auster Castle Template Pack

This package contains defensive buildings for the Auster theme.

Auster is a simple stone-and-wood theme, prominently featuring dark stone arches, hearty stone walls, mandatory fireplaces for the cold north, and typically wooden second floors and roofs. The simple coloration and patterns were chosen for the Northern Alliance and make a fantastic base for lots of plants and decor.

I tried very hard to make these easily editable. You'll notice that the contiguous walls are specially constructed to that end, and walls were used instead of blocks wherever possible to facilitate recoloring to your tastes.

WARNING the narrow arrow slot windows are used extensively. These are an unlock-able window, I believe by the Ascendancy. If you don't have these unlocked yet, you may wish to remove the windows and cut holes in the walls instead. I am working on a custom narrow window item to use instead to avoid this problem, but my modding skills aren't up to par quite yet.


Wooden palisade defenses, primarily wood structures with an open battlement.

• Auster Palisade Wall - the standard wooden wall with a raised platform for firing on enemies below.
  
• Auster Palisade Corner - a wall corner.
  
• Auster Palisade In Corner - wall corner but the other way around.
  
• Auster Palisade Tower - a small enclosed tower that fits along your palisade walls and features an access ladder.
  
• Auster Palisade Corner Tower - a small enclosed corner tower that features an access ladder.
  
• Auster Palisade Gatehouse - a well guarded entrance gate complete with wood portcullises and murder holes.
  
• Auster Palisade Stair - just a staircase that fits the theme.

Stone castle defenses, primarily stone structures with closed battlements, complete with machicolations and covered with hoardings appropriate for keeping your guards out of the elements in the deep cold.

• Auster Wall - a straight section of stone wall, 12 blocks wide, representing a single repeat of the default stone pattern.
  
• Auster Wall (Short) - a straight section of wall only 4 blocks wide, great for filling in gaps or terracing. Because they are so narrow, the pattern will not always match up be default and may require wall recoloring to maintain the seamless look.
  
• Auster Wall (Long) - a straight section of stone wall 24 blocks wide, for convenience.
  
• Auster Wall (Up) - a section of stone wall terraced up 15 blocks. This template is not built to the full quality of the other wall templates, but I used it in one of my towns and thought someone might find it handy anyhow.
  
• Auster Wall Corner - a seamless wall corner piece.
  
• Auster Wall Inside Corner - same thing but the other way around.
  
• Auster Wall Tower - a tower that aligns to walls.
  
• Auster Wall Corner Tower - a tower that aligns to walls, but as a corner.
  
• Auster Wall Gatehouse - a complex gatehouse that aligns to walls. This template includes two towers, two large bronze portcullises, stairs, many reinforced doors, murder holes, hoardings, machicolations, and plenty of arrow slits. Notice two large windows slightly elevated to either side between the portcullises, specifically designed to house turrets.
  
• Auster Wall Stair Tower - a small round tower with a spiral staircase for accessing walls. These are meant to sit against the back of wall sections. Remember to add a door to the wall where you place stair tower.
