Description
My version of the famous Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

The B-29 had a rather large crew of 11: Pilot, Co-pilot, Bombardier, Flight Engineer, Navigator, Radio Operator, Radar Observer, Right Gunner, Left Gunner, Central Fire Control, and Tail Gunner. All 11 corresponding seats are in the plane.

The plane is armed with 12 .50 caliber machine guns (I use double guns to emulate the power of the .50 cal), 4 in the front dorsal turret, 2 each in the rear dorsal, front ventral , rear ventral and tail turrets respectively.
Some (usually early) versions also had a 20mm automatic cannon in the tail turret but the gun in the game is too big to fit, and it seems most planes had this removed so I chose not to include it.

The Superfortress used some for its time pretty advanced fire controls and the only turret that was manned, sort of, was the tail turret. The other four turrets were controlled by the fire control officer and the left and right gunners. However even the tail turret could be remotely controlled by one of the other three gunners if necessary.

This version carries a payload consisting of 16 1000 lb bombs.

Alt controls to fly.

W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right Arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear. *
Hold X/Reverse steering: Bomb bay doors.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Drop bombs. **
B/Beacon: Fire in engine 1.
K/Hazard lights: Fire in engine 2.
L/Headlights: Fire in engine 3.
(Alt+)PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary: Fire in engine 4.

Camera 1: Bomb sight.
Camera 7 and 8: Left and right unner's viewing cupolas.

Alt + Arrow keys + Fire action 1/Num 1 or Mouse for all turrets from their respective seat. Camera numbers in parenthesis.

- Front (2) and rear (3) dorsal turrets are controlled by Central fire control: central elevated seat in the rear compartment with a view through the observation cupola.
- Rear ventral turret (4) is controlled from the right gunner's position.
- Front ventral turret (5) is controlled from the left gunner's position.
- Tail turret (6) is controlled from the tail gunner's position under the tail fin.

* Also extends the tail bumper that prevents the rear ventral turret or the tail itself from scraping the ground on take-off. This was a real feature.
Red warning lights in cockpit and for flight engineer when landing gear is up.

** The bombs drop in timed sequence and take about 2.5 seconds to all drop. Green lights in the cockpit will indicate that all have been released.

Due to limitations of the tools in Brick Rigs and also due to the plane's design (and my lack of patience and ability) there is a lot of clipping of the guns and other parts, and I know some areas are rough to say the least.
This is also why the flight controls in the cockpit do not move. They clip through the main windscreen and just go mad if they have any moving parts.
It is what it is, but the plane flies well and drops bombs so... :)

Feel free to edit, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

also if you turn fluid dynamics on the skeys they can be used as waterskeys on the ii-2

My Il-2:s are out as you might have seen already and have finally even managed to get updated in the Workshop, and I'm now working on an improved version of the B-17 so that'll come out next, hopefully within a week. It's a big and quite tricky build (as in a lot of functionality and tricky details) so will take few more days at least.

My B-29 flies fine, it's just VERY slow to roll (and loses massive amounts of speed doing it) since the game for some reason makes rolling with larger wingspans nearly impossible. Other than that it behaves pretty well I think. :)

I mainly build WW2 planes so I'm afraid the B-36 is a bit on the newer side for me. I can put it on my list but I already have over 50 other planes on there waiting to be built, so there's no telling when or if I get to the B-36.
