Fauchard Luxury Battleship

Description
The Fauchard is a battleship that also caters to the desires of its guests with anything a yacht could need; featuring a lounge, bar, conference room, pool and more. This battleship can do more than just battle.

---[Basic Specifications]---
Pcu: 34 035
Block count: 4 698
Jump range: 1 673 km
Dry mass: 4 482 000 kg
Upwards thrust: 22.5 m/s^2 (maintainable for 31 minutes of constant thrust)
Cargo capacity: 1.06 ML (with cargo containers named for what they should hold, such as railgun sabots and artillery munitions)
Hydrogen capacity: 141 ML

---[Armaments]---
25 Railguns, armored and capable of being fired in sequence or all at once, activate the "Delay fire railguns" timer block to fire them in sequence, activate it again to abort
16 Fixed Artillery
16 Artillery Turrets
6 Gatling Turrets

In addition to weapons, the Fauchard has a fighter deck to allow two fighters to land and deploy in battle.

---[Usability]---
The Fauchard luxury battleship has what is needed to help a fleet stay out for long, featuring: three refineries with modules attached as well as four assemblers, also with modules. Furthermore drills can be attached to the bottom most thruster, allowing for a potentially infinite operating period.

---[Notes]---
The Fauchard is indeed a battleship, however it is not designed to tank every hit from every direction, always have the bow towards the enemy to minimize risks of losing. To avoid getting hit, the Fauchard is equipped with thrusters capable of dodging artillery at a range of a kilometer. Furthermore it is recommended to detach the figurehead before battle so it does not get in the way of artillery turrets as well as acts as a flare to delay the enemy locking on to you. This can be done on the third page of the toolbar.
Figurehead can be found here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2833919957

The name Fauchard (pronounced "fau-shard") comes from the medieval weapon of the same name; a polearm that would eventually become mostly ornamental and became more decorated until it could not be carried by one person. This ship can be around 25 000 pcu, however with decorations it is over 34 000, an amount that not every server allows, thus this ship is paralleled with the fauchard in medieval times.

This ship uses Whiplash's SIMPL and Automatic Airlock scripts

This is quite tough.

I like it when spaceships are named after obscure medieval weapons

Just to clarify, I hope I didn't come off as criticizing the naming of the ship. I was pointing out some classifications that people use as the basis for how the classify their own designs, but I also said that if the author wanted to call it a Luxury Frigate, they can do so because they designed it lol

VArgent do not mind the critic's some cant seem to think outside the box.=) If I was stuck in space for long periods of time I would want something like this. Luxury with lots of firepower. A harem would not be to bad either. Anyways nice job on the build.

Then you have missed the point as well. Battleships are weapons. Space that isn't dedicated to killing, communication, or survivability is wasted space and a liability.

The only time you see decorative or "pretty" weapons of war, are ceremonial weapons. You touched on that with your excellent choice of "Fauchard" as the name. It's not uncommon for royalty to have ceremonial military units that are probably relatively capable, but might also have a few more amenities than ordinarily found on regular service units. "Ceremonial battleship" might have been better.

Your ship, you named it. I don't care. Just pointing out that everyone arguing about which warship designation it should be while ignoring the "luxury" adjective have really missed the point.

Patrick, this ship is a battleship by number of weapons, as well as by my definition since classes in SE do not exist.
It is also, by definition, luxurious, as luxury is defined as: "Luxury noun, plural lux·u·ries.

a material object, service, etc., conducive to sumptuous living, usually a delicacy, elegance, or refinement of living rather than a necessity.

a pleasure out of the ordinary allowed to oneself: the luxury of an extra piece of the cake.
a foolish or worthless form of self-indulgence.
"
This is a battleship, and it is luxurious, having additions there for comfort, not combat. Luxury and war are not mutually exclusive, though they do not mix normall, however they do in this ship, therefore it can be called a luxury battleship.

Sincerely, the creator of the Fauchard Luxury Battleship.

Luxury battelcruiser and luxury battleship are both silly names. Warships are not "luxurious," they don't have pools, and they don't have "anything a yacht could need." On a warship, that space would be used for guns, ammo, armor, engines, or just making it smaller.

It's a very nice build, but the people focusing on whether its a "luxury" battleship versus a "luxury" battlecruiser have missed the most important point.

I think you nailed it when you called it a yacht. That's what it is. A heavily armed yacht. Which is awesome. Maybe even a super yacht.

My two cents. Honestly, it's a very nice build and I don't really care what you call it. :)

According to this random warship classification article, Cruisers are smaller and cheaper than a Battleship, yet much larger and more powerful than a Destroyer. They were designed to mix speed and range, endurance and firepower, and were expected to be able to out-run any ship they can't out-fight. Battleships were slow, heavily armored, heavily armed, and meant to brawl with enemy battleships.

Idk what standards you're classifying this ship by, but with a PCU of 34k, it's not a Destroyer. Battlecruiser is another category that was fast moving, heavily armed, but not as heavily armored as a battleship.

So Luxury Battlecruiser seems accurate for a large yet agile, moderately armored, and decently armed ship that is overstocked with amenities. But at the end of the day, if you'd like to build it in your world and call it a Frigate, you're allowed to do that too lol.

It's a great ship design that blends nice aesthetics with firepower. Props to the author

still dont like that you called it a battleship.
