The only time you see decorative or "pretty" weapons of war, are ceremonial weapons. You touched on that with your excellent choice of "Fauchard" as the name. It's not uncommon for royalty to have ceremonial military units that are probably relatively capable, but might also have a few more amenities than ordinarily found on regular service units. "Ceremonial battleship" might have been better.
Your ship, you named it. I don't care. Just pointing out that everyone arguing about which warship designation it should be while ignoring the "luxury" adjective have really missed the point.
It is also, by definition, luxurious, as luxury is defined as: "Luxury noun, plural lux·u·ries.
a material object, service, etc., conducive to sumptuous living, usually a delicacy, elegance, or refinement of living rather than a necessity.
a pleasure out of the ordinary allowed to oneself: the luxury of an extra piece of the cake.
a foolish or worthless form of self-indulgence.
"
This is a battleship, and it is luxurious, having additions there for comfort, not combat. Luxury and war are not mutually exclusive, though they do not mix normall, however they do in this ship, therefore it can be called a luxury battleship.
Sincerely, the creator of the Fauchard Luxury Battleship.
It's a very nice build, but the people focusing on whether its a "luxury" battleship versus a "luxury" battlecruiser have missed the most important point.
I think you nailed it when you called it a yacht. That's what it is. A heavily armed yacht. Which is awesome. Maybe even a super yacht.
My two cents. Honestly, it's a very nice build and I don't really care what you call it. :)
Idk what standards you're classifying this ship by, but with a PCU of 34k, it's not a Destroyer. Battlecruiser is another category that was fast moving, heavily armed, but not as heavily armored as a battleship.
So Luxury Battlecruiser seems accurate for a large yet agile, moderately armored, and decently armed ship that is overstocked with amenities. But at the end of the day, if you'd like to build it in your world and call it a Frigate, you're allowed to do that too lol.
It's a great ship design that blends nice aesthetics with firepower. Props to the author
still dont like that you called it a battleship.
