Fabricate Plasteel

This mod allows you to craft Plasteel at the Fabrication Bench after finishing the "Fabrication" research project.


Works with existing saves.


If you're like me, you assumed you'd be able to make plasteel at the Fabrication Bench once it was unlocked, and were disappointed when you couldn't. After all, you can find both minable components and minable plasteel. So why can't you fabricate plasteel like you can fabricate components?

Plasteel (x25) = Steel (x75) + Chemfuel (x25)

This recipe considers the ingredient to product cost ratio as to not devalue plasteel too much. If you sell all the plasteel you make, you're only going to make a 7% profit as opposed to just selling the ingredients outright. Plus if you're at the stage where you need a lot of plasteel, you're probably going to be stuffed to the gills with steel anyway.
