For example this song's BPM seems to be 135, changing it to that will adjust the editor's grid to be on-beat. You'll likely have to change the chart's offset from there (the numerical value to the left of "1/16th of a note" at the top and line it up with the song's waveform, but once you do that it should be much easier to sync. If you need more help you can friend me and ask.

you can if you want, if you're going to add or remove notes though you should make a new difficulty or upload as to not break any leaderboards. I think the most important thing you can do to fix the sync is to use the correct BPM for the song, this is the tool I use: https://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm just press Space to the beat for a bit and it'll give you the BPM. Put that in at the top of the editor and it should be much more manageable.

do you think i should update this chart? it'll take some time, but i can reduce the randomness a bit.

It's a bit outdated, but will teach you a lot of tricks that will help in future charts. If you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask on the Discord server, I think you'll do great once you figure things out.
