Description
WR Critters
This mod contains custom pets that were originally part of a server mod. The first batch of pets split off into this mod are the horses.

Critters Included
8 Horse retextures:
- Appaloosa
- Clydesdale
- Fjord
- Boreal Grey - Based off of Boulonnais horses.
- Red Rabicano
- Rocky Mountain with Blonde Mane
- Rocky Mountain with Black Mane
- Strawberry Roan

The Boreal Grey and Black Mane Rocky Mountain were added so all players could have access to white and black horses without purchasing a silly B&W horse DLC.

As mod version 3.0.0+ the horses now support the same ability for saddles to hide the mane and tail that was added to the base game horses. This functionality is dependent on the saddle item being flagged to hide the mane to avoid clipping.

Recipe Locations
As of v2.0.0+ the recipes for Questionable Fodder, and two new Foal types are unlocked with the "Stablemaster" feat. Allowing horses to be raised in the stables.

Feat teaching scrolls are also accessible in both of the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah.
Siptah: Scrolls are given in exchange for fragments of power at The Void Forge in the Tower of Siptah.
Exiled Lands: Scrolls are given in exchange for fragments of power in the Archivist's Library.
Other Maps: If the custom map you are using does not include the Archivist's bookshelf, or something similar, the teacher scrolls are admin spawnable.

Crafting
Starting with v2.0.0 the horses can now be raised in a Stable.
To create the new horses, you need to convert a Foal to a Regal or Hardy Foal in the inventory crafting menu using Questionable Fodder.

A Regal Foal is used to raise:
- Black & Blonde Rocky Mountain
- Boreal Grey
- Red Rabicano

A Hardy Foal is used to raise:
- Fjord
- Strawberry Roan
- Appaloosa
- Clydesdale

They eat the same things as the base game horses.

Questionable Fodder is created at any Alchemist's Bench, including Improved, Trade, and Precision benches.

The recipes for Questionable Fodder and the Regal and Hardy Foals are included in the "Stablemaster" feat.

The previous method of acquiring the pet recipe teaching scrolls still gives out recipes to create specific horses in inventory with a vanilla horse and the Questionable Fodder.

Future Changes
This mod will likely get more content unrelated to horses added. This is to consolidate the mods and other contributions I have made to the game over the years. By consolidating the things I still care about into a single mod, I will be able to maintain and test the mod using the fewer available hours I have going forward.

If the scope of this mod changing is an issue for you or your server community, please leave a comment on the Discussion thread I opened on the topic.

Mod Maintenance Note
This mod is part of the core modlist for a server that has been running since 2018. It will get updated to each Conan Exiles release for the foreseeable future. I am retiring from the greater Conan Exiles community in 2024, but currently this plan does not involve entirely abandoning this mod. If this changes, I will make a note here.

Enjoy my fellow Exiles!

File Overwrite Notice
This mod no longer replaces Game/Systems/Building/Placeables/BP_PL_Crafting_Station_AnimalPen_Stables

The new horses will still be craft-able through the player inventory after learning the specific horse's feat via the Void Forge or Archivist's Library. The server admins setting up a custom merchant NPC is also a good way to distribute the horses if a mod compatibility issue occurs.

**No one has permission to re-upload, unpack, re-pack, or use any of the custom content included in this mod.

I experimented with changing horse sizes in the past, they broke too many player combat animations when sizes were tweaked.

i want to try this mod, but im curious. Is the Clydesdale larger then the normal horses or are they the same size? I would like to see a horse mod with larger horses, Belgium Draft, Percheron, Clydesdale but to scale so they are larger then normal horses

Those foal types you mentioned do not sound like base game/vanilla foals. If they are from another mod, they will not work, only the base game foals will work with the stables. You will need to use the alternate method to get these horses through the Archivist's library.

i know this may not get seen but if it does please help me, i have collected 4 foes - 2 brown duns, 1 seal brown and a sooty blue foal BUT in my inventory the picture for them is what looks like 2 horse hooves, i think. I cant do anything with them at all, they wont go in a stable and i cant convert them with questionable fodder in my inventory because the recipe wants a picture of a horse head and the foals i gathered are as i said not horses heads but what looks like 2 horse hooves, i am new to conan exiles and only realised bone broth was only available once i collected a recipe book which i didnt know so probably again here i am missing a step and would love someone to point me in the right direction please

Update for the Age of Heroes Chapter 1 Hotfix is uploading now. This is just a mod recook to hopefully help speed up some server loads with Funcoms recent changes.

When using the stable to raise a horse, it uses the same RNG mechanic that normal vanilla horses use. If you want to pick a specific horse type, use the scrolls available through the void forge or library. There is a scroll per horse type available through those that let you inventory craft specific horses.

so may be stupid question but how do you chose the breed (color) once you have chosen 'regal' or 'hardy'? I don't see any options to choose??
