I experimented with changing horse sizes in the past, they broke too many player combat animations when sizes were tweaked.

i want to try this mod, but im curious. Is the Clydesdale larger then the normal horses or are they the same size? I would like to see a horse mod with larger horses, Belgium Draft, Percheron, Clydesdale but to scale so they are larger then normal horses

Those foal types you mentioned do not sound like base game/vanilla foals. If they are from another mod, they will not work, only the base game foals will work with the stables. You will need to use the alternate method to get these horses through the Archivist's library.

i know this may not get seen but if it does please help me, i have collected 4 foes - 2 brown duns, 1 seal brown and a sooty blue foal BUT in my inventory the picture for them is what looks like 2 horse hooves, i think. I cant do anything with them at all, they wont go in a stable and i cant convert them with questionable fodder in my inventory because the recipe wants a picture of a horse head and the foals i gathered are as i said not horses heads but what looks like 2 horse hooves, i am new to conan exiles and only realised bone broth was only available once i collected a recipe book which i didnt know so probably again here i am missing a step and would love someone to point me in the right direction please

Update for the Age of Heroes Chapter 1 Hotfix is uploading now. This is just a mod recook to hopefully help speed up some server loads with Funcoms recent changes.

When using the stable to raise a horse, it uses the same RNG mechanic that normal vanilla horses use. If you want to pick a specific horse type, use the scrolls available through the void forge or library. There is a scroll per horse type available through those that let you inventory craft specific horses.

so may be stupid question but how do you chose the breed (color) once you have chosen 'regal' or 'hardy'? I don't see any options to choose??

My mod adds entries to Stablemaster, so if someone else messes with it, by deleting the contents or changing the ID of it..., I don't think you will ever get my mod to work with whatever mod is doing that.

Your only option to get the horses will likely be to use the library or void forge recipes method.

If foals are no longer running around the map, it is not my mod. My mod no longer touches anything in vanilla.

Hey there! I know it has been a while since it's been updated and probably never will be updated in the future. I have it in my modlist now and can't find the foals running around anymore. Is this normal? I also can't find the Questionable Fodder in the Stablemasters perk. I do have some other mods adding mounts so maybe its a modlist or mod incompatibility. Do you have any recommendations where to put it in the modlist?

@SynSedai Hey there! Put the Swift Foal in a stable and feed it normal horse stuff.

The inventory craft method of Swift Foal + Fodder is only for the backup recipes to make the horses learned through the void forge or Dead city's library in the event a mod conflict breaks the normal horse training method.

Just a heads up, it is unlikely that I will have the time to get an update for this mod out the week of April 2nd for the new update. As far as I can tell glancing through the asset change log, nothing horse or stable related changed in this update, so everything should "just work"

If the game crashes when *only* running this mod on the new update, then please provide the details and I will take care of it once I have time to fuss with the devkit.

Mod Conflict Update (v3.2.0)
* Removed: BP_PL_Crafting_Station_AnimalPen_Stables overwrite.
* Added: New method of allowing horses to be crafted without source file change.

This should fix the issue with the Hotfix mod preventing the added horses from being raised. I have not tested with that mod as I do not run that mod. Anyway, genuine props to Testerle for fixing issues before Funcom decided to get around to it, and hopefully this works now. :D

It has been reported to me that the "Age of War - Chapter 3 - Hotfix 1 (Mid-December-Edition)" mod breaks the ability to raise the new horses this mod adds in the stables. I do not run this mod on my servers, so I have no confirmation on this being the case. Just FYI.

In other news. I am retiring from the Conan Exiles community in 2024, and will only be involved in a technical capacity for the server community I am an admin of. Since this mod is important to many players and a few of my friends servers, I plan to keep maintaining it into the future.

However, there are several mods I work on or contribute to and I would like to consolidate the important additions or things I personally care about into a single mod to make things easier.

If the scope of this mod changing is a problem for you, please voice your concerns in the Discussion I opened about this.

This mod will be updated for this weeks game update before Friday.

I have been unable to replicate the issue DreadMaw reported on multiple horses now, they are getting stats and leveling up. @DreadMaw some more info on the issue would be appreciated. The mods I test with are in the collection linked on this page.

Age of War Chapter 2 Update (v3.1.1)

* Removed the quick and dirty fix for the missing Mane's and Tails in the stable post AoW update.
- I still plan on working on a better fix to this if it is still not fixed in Funcom's next patches, time permitting... I had to redo the stable overwrite for the horse crafting and lost the dirty fix I had in place.

Yeah it is... I cooked the mod with the "Age 2 Chapter 1 Hotfix (8 June 2023)" Devkit, there is a "Age 2 Chapter 1 Hotfix 2 (30 June 2023)" Devkit, but it is explicitly noted that unless the mod is impacted by the issue they fixed, a recook is not needed. This mod is not impacted by the gameplay tags bug this version fixed.

There is a wolf retexture I did, but with all the new battle pass and Bazaar stuff I have not really gotten around to finishing the port of it to this mod.

The IQOL issue happens on my server to the vanilla horses, which would make sense as all this mod changes as of Age of War is the horse textures, it no longer includes a modified horse mesh, as it is no longer needed.

No idea about BetterThralls, my horses as of AoW are nothing more than reskinned vanilla horses, all the custom stuff I had to do to get different textures on manes & tails is no longer necessary with the new horse meshes that Funcom added. The WR-Critters horses inherit off the base mountable pet blueprints just like the 4 vanilla horses.

The only substantial game play change this mod makes anymore has to do with the stable to make these horses directly craft-able.

We have two problems with these horses, one of them we seem to have figured out. Neither seems to apply to vanilla horses.

1) If the height of the character placing the horse is 0.8 or shorter (using IQOL's body slider), the horse becomes unmountable by anyone. We tested for a bit, and it always seemed to work at 0.81 and higher and never at 0.8

2) Sometimes the horses cannot be picked up into inventory by BetterThralls. BetterThralls complains that the inventory is not empty, even though it is. Could not reproduce the bug. Things I tried: server transfering, feeding it food, leveling it up, leveling it up with food. I can't say for sure it doesn't happen with vanilla horses, but the only horses we are unable to pick up are WR Critter horses. It seems to only apply to older horses.

I think only animals in the Animal Pen's produce Dung, I can look at adding that to the Stable since I am overwriting it anyway, and it doesn't result in adding a bunch of maintenance overhead between Funcom patches.

Try toggling on the walk speed, I *think* it is the backspace key. You may have to check keybindings in the game. I know its Backspace for me, but I cannot remember if I changed the default or not. xD

I've noticed that none of the horses can simply just walk, they just do a slow run animation instead of the walk animation. Is there anyway to fix this?

Sorry for so many updates this week.
I was getting pretty annoyed by the horses in the stable not having manes and tails since AoW.

- I will circle back to this if it is not fixed in Funcom's mid season bugfix patches, for now all horses have the same color mane & tail in the stable, I figured this was better than nothing..

Pushed an update, here are the changes:
* Removed all mod logo's and custom item frames to make mod more visually consistent with the AoW UI.
* Added missing tags to Hardy & Regal Foals, this should allow the Journey step for raising a horse to now complete. Thank you @screamwolf for reporting this issue.
* Added missing tags on the rest of the horses, just in case this also prevents journey or battlepass steps from completing.
