Empire Allegiance Technologies [Updated for 2.3]

Description


"Alone the Empire struggles against all the foes at its borders, but with the help of others who uphold Order in these war-torn times, we may thrive."

This mod adds a group of technologies to every Empire faction for each Order-aligned culture (Dwarfs, Bretonnia, High Elves, Lizardmen, Grand Cathay and Kislev) that represent deepening ties and cultural/scholarly exchange between the Empire faction and that culture. In order to unlock access to them, you will need to first establish a defensive or military alliance with any faction of the desired culture. For example, to unlock the prerequisite technology for the High Elves section, you will need to have an alliance with a High Elf faction (can be a minor faction).

This is my first mod, so I won't be surprised if balance is off. I welcome all comments regarding that. You can find a list of all the technologies and their effects in the Empire Technologies discussion thread.

Compatibility
Unless stated otherwise, this mod is incompatible with other tech mods. I'm open to submodding (both doing it myself and from others) provided permission is obtained from either myself or the other mod's author.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is your mod causing my game to crash?
A: If there's been an update since you subscribed to my mod, please first try unsubscribing and resubscribing. If not, please tell me the conditions in which the crash occurs. If it's following a diplomacy interaction, the info I'd like to know are what faction you're playing as and who you interacted with.

Q: Is this mod multiplayer compatible?
A: Yes.

Q: Does this mod work with others that add Legendary Lords for the Empire factions (like Mixu's Legendary Lords)?
A: Yes.

Q: Can this mod be enabled mid-campaign?
A: Yes, but the script that locks technologies until you have established an alliance with an Order-aligned culture will not work. You'll start with access to every technology.

Q: Can you implement something similar for another Order culture?
A: Maybe.

Q: Why aren't X faction's technologies not locking when starting a new campaign?
A: Before reporting this as a bug, please check to see if your faction has a starting alliance with X faction. This is intended behaviour if you start with a alliance.

hi, really like the way you approached allegiances. the empire really is the nation that is the uniter of the different factions. i have 1 problem though, no crash or anything like that, but im using SFO and since they add technologies, yours 'banners / buttos' in the thechnology screen get overlapped by theirs. any chanse you could shift yours 2 spots to the right? its a shame i cant acces the dwarf, brettonia and elf technologies. sorry if its an inconvenience

Would it be possible to have other unlock requirements for these techs, like having an alliance or X amount of positive relations?

Money remains of course the simplest solution :)
