Description
4.1 Thanks to Juko for finding the missing animation slot that resolved the bug of bayonet units not firing in fire-at-will

4.0 Update: Thanks to Beaver Dagget for the assistance with making this animation set fully compatible with the square and hollow square formation abilities.

This mod is meant primarily as an asset for other modders. This is my bayonet rifle animation set from Guns of the Empire, sliced out into its own easily imported package, including the database tables and files for compatibility with Marthenil's Reloading Animations.

You're welcome to use it as a player if you want Empire handgunners with a bayonet fitted rifle and the melee stats of a spearman.

Modders: just import this into your mod (removing the land units table, rifle models, and handgunner rifle VMD unless you want those too), and give your hu1 unit the animation set.

Couple important notes:
1) for Reloading Animation compatibility to work, Reloading MUST be loaded first. So either name your pack file such that it comes after "marthreloading" or be prepared to advise a lot of people to bump Reloading higher in load order.

2) The weapon prop needs the same position and pivot point as the Gunnery Wight rifle. You're welcome to use my rifle in this mod as a reference or to just use it.

There is some jank in a couple animations and some transitions that I will most definitely correct if I can figure out how. If they annoy you, you are seriously welcome to come learn animation modding and help resolve it because this is hard.

The existence of this mod is permission to add these animations to anything you like, I would just appreciate credit and if you let me know you're using it I will try to let you know when this has fixes for anything.

Still working now? I knew you've made other mods that I'm using but I somehow completely missed how you've made so many other good mods

Is there a chance you could make a mod where instead of Bayonets the Handgunners just hold the guns by the barrel and use the butts to club enemies to the ground, giving them either greatsword or peasantmob animations?

is there a way to make a mod to replace the musket models vanilla and modded units use without having to edit both the vanilla and mods themselves was wanting to swap the muskets to a brown bess for the visual appeal

Hey Snek, know you are busy and have to balance your time, but any more word on this, and the idea of the Ironsides with bayonets? Tbh I kind of wish you could just straight port your ironside guard as a replacement, for anyone who is not currently using GotE, as I think it still looks most like some of the artwork of them, and looks most like a kind of super-industrial standardized munitions plate that'd make sense for Nuln.
