Description
Based on both Original and Legacy Hotline Miami Jacket mods, by BeetleUD

This version has numerous changes combining attacks and abilities of both Jackets along with New additions.

List of changes

[--Unique Attributes--]
-Can use strongs in the air
-Lightweight / Fast faller
-Increased waveland mobility
-all Aerials can Special cancel and Jump cancel on hit
-all Tilts, Jab, and Dash attack can Jump cancel and Special cancel

[Specials]
Neutral special: combines "The Pitcher" and "Guns for Show" into one move.
-The Pitcher: Hold special to delay throw and aim up or down, can cancel with parry (discards current weapon)
-Guns for Show: fires uzi or shotgun when equipped, discards gun when out of ammo by throwing it next button press

Side special: "Sociopath"
Use 1 of 3 different weapons to cover large distances, Landing a hit allows you to be actionable, missing puts you into pratfall (this applies to all 3)
-Machete dash: automatically attack when making contact with players, can be aimed up or down (sets up for combos)
-Crowbar crush: press and hold attack to charge a powerful multi hit (long charges also increase endlag)
-Whiplash: press jump to rise with a chain whip, landing a hit increases height gained (excels at recovery)

Up special: "Knife for Pros"
-Now with high knockback scaling
-Hold special to quickly stab downward after
-Combos greatly after Aerials

Down special: "Always on Top"
-Now a command grab Tackle (Obtains Weapons for Strongs and reloads ammo on hit)

--]Strongs/Weapon stats[--

-Claw hammer: reliable back-up weapon (default starting weapon)
-Baseball bat: The most average weapon
-Golf club: Specializes in Knockback (low damage)
-Sledge hammer: Heavy slow powerhouse
-Katana: Specializes in speed (no charging strongs)
-Fire axe: Specializes in Damage (low knockback)
-Trophy: improvised oddball weapon (short range)
-Chainsaw: Dangerously high damage and knockback (Unique attacks to other weapons)
-Shotgun: Temporarily shoots with Neutral special (uses Claw hammer for strongs)
-Uzi: Now its own separate weapon (now with more bullets)


-[-Grounded normals-]-
-Jab: Fast 3 hit combo (can strong cancel after)
-Forward tilt: Quick hammer bash followed up by a 2nd leaping hammer strike (can strong cancel from 1st hit)
-Down tilt: Slides further and faster (can down strong cancel only)
-Up tilt: Lead pipe swing with large hitbox
-Dash attack: (can Strong/Attack cancel on hit)

-Neutral air: Spins and cuts twice
-Forward air: Overall faster and bigger
-Up air: Overall faster and bigger
-Back air: Fast knife swing turning you around mid air
-Down air: Quick dive kick

-Changed several alt colors, along with 5 new colors!
-Gotta get a New 4th victory theme!
-Connect a devastating attack with a x7 combo or higher to hear something familiar
-x14 combo or higher, and x21 or higher have exclusives

hay un error , si con la skin de "gotta get a grip" haces el especial hacia avajo a un clon de forsburn el color se va a quedar en el aire

i even prefer this one to the original. i am a fan of hotline miami but finded the original one kinda boring and then i saw this. thanks.:steamthumbsup:

I like the idea of upgrading to the grab from the dash. An idea I came up with is a points system that would give you weapons based on your points total, a little like the Jerma character's viewer mechanic. It seemed like a good way to tie in the points system from Hotline Miami in an applicable way but I didn't say it because it seemed like a lot of work for only a small part of Jacket's moveset.

You could do something more simple like if you connect the dspecial x amount of times, then you get a weapon. A combo counter definitely seems like a better idea though

one idea I just thought of now for Dspecial, is I could make a 2nd weaker version of Dspecial you start off with.
It'd be like a command dash knocking people over, stunning them a little.
and it could be upgraded to the Grab takedown, that'd give you weapons.

I haven't thought of what the requirement would be for the Dspecial Upgrade tho, maybe it could use the combo counter? just an idea if that sounds better

the cooldown for d-special should begin once the item is thrown and should last 20 secs

Maybe an internal cooldown on when you can get another weapon from dspecial? Still though, thanks for being so receptive to feedback!

We played the new patch a bit. He is definitely more tolerable than before but still obscenely strong, and I don't have any ideas on what could be changed. But still, thanks for updating him! You're awesome for updating him and Venom, so thanks again! I really enjoy your characters

In earlier builds I had Jacket more extreme, offense and combos was Smash4 Bayonetta levels broken, Defense was so infuriatingly fragile.
I guess my mindset at first was "Make it feel like your playing Hotline Miami"
But I later realized how polarizing and stressful that'd be for both Players and Opponents.

So I hope these nerfs continue to iron things out while still maintaining the initial Hotline Miami feel

We play him casually, but he is played enough to where we've gotten pretty decent at him. At earlier percents his side special combos into his down special very easily to the point where it can almost consistently kill with followups like nspecial into edge guard. His cancels are strong but they make the character saucy so they're fine imo lol. He is just incredibly oppressive in neutral with not many punish opportunities.
