i even prefer this one to the original. i am a fan of hotline miami but finded the original one kinda boring and then i saw this. thanks.:steamthumbsup:

I like the idea of upgrading to the grab from the dash. An idea I came up with is a points system that would give you weapons based on your points total, a little like the Jerma character's viewer mechanic. It seemed like a good way to tie in the points system from Hotline Miami in an applicable way but I didn't say it because it seemed like a lot of work for only a small part of Jacket's moveset.

You could do something more simple like if you connect the dspecial x amount of times, then you get a weapon. A combo counter definitely seems like a better idea though

one idea I just thought of now for Dspecial, is I could make a 2nd weaker version of Dspecial you start off with.
It'd be like a command dash knocking people over, stunning them a little.
and it could be upgraded to the Grab takedown, that'd give you weapons.

I haven't thought of what the requirement would be for the Dspecial Upgrade tho, maybe it could use the combo counter? just an idea if that sounds better

the cooldown for d-special should begin once the item is thrown and should last 20 secs

Maybe an internal cooldown on when you can get another weapon from dspecial? Still though, thanks for being so receptive to feedback!

We played the new patch a bit. He is definitely more tolerable than before but still obscenely strong, and I don't have any ideas on what could be changed. But still, thanks for updating him! You're awesome for updating him and Venom, so thanks again! I really enjoy your characters

In earlier builds I had Jacket more extreme, offense and combos was Smash4 Bayonetta levels broken, Defense was so infuriatingly fragile.
I guess my mindset at first was "Make it feel like your playing Hotline Miami"
But I later realized how polarizing and stressful that'd be for both Players and Opponents.

So I hope these nerfs continue to iron things out while still maintaining the initial Hotline Miami feel

We play him casually, but he is played enough to where we've gotten pretty decent at him. At earlier percents his side special combos into his down special very easily to the point where it can almost consistently kill with followups like nspecial into edge guard. His cancels are strong but they make the character saucy so they're fine imo lol. He is just incredibly oppressive in neutral with not many punish opportunities.

I'm curious as I gave this character A LOT of sauce, such as being able to use Strongs in the air
Jump cancels, Special cancels, and even Strong canceling to alot of Jacket's basic attacks

I always figured that was the most busted thing about him, but wasn't sure if that bothered others.
Do you guys play him casually or competitively?

Hey boss, my homie uses this character a lot, but we both feel he is greatly overtuned and we would like to see some nerfs to make him more rewarding to play and fairer to fight. After some testing, we compiled a list of nerfs we think would make Jacket more enjoyable. Let me know what you think pretty please with a cherry on top !

-Shotgun lower knockback and range
-Less knockback on sledgehammer, baseball bat, trophy, and chainsaw when thrown
-Side special longer cooldown on whiff and connect
-Side special smaller hitbox
-Down special longer cooldown on whiff and connect
-Up special initial hit slower to come out and less knockback, second downward hit is ok :)
-Slightly lower kill percent

I've made so many drastic changes to this character over time, and while I know a lot of people are subbed
I'm never certain if anyone likes the new moves and changes I've made or just haven't noticed.

So I appreciate the praise, really!

lol that's my bad, I did draw the Katana strings on up smash myself.

I did have a backup sprite before adding the strings, but after awhile I deleted it.
So it's funny that now I'm told it looks funky, I'll try to get around to fixing it up

i think itd be nice if the katana strings/sageo in the upsmash should be downscaled in pixel art or removed, it catches you off guard because the inconsistent pixel art.

It is okay, is fine to see if they are fine with it.

But if they don't give a answer after a while.
Well, I would just go to the point for prepare and released that.
And of course crediting to the original.

Inactive probably no, perhaps they are in their hobbies or own personal life business.

I feel that probably he is one of those persons that got interested in ROA modding stuff when it got released the workshop.
Then in some point, leaves the scenario without say anything, due that he is done with every char and stages that he planned or he is not interested anymore in this.

I would imagine that he is probably not interested in ROA modding anymore. :P

For me I interested see you version considering that you say that has a different playstyle and stats. :grinsam:

Hey, I did notice that you did comment somewhere, that you made a edited version of Monika.

Do you still have in mind release it?

I doubt that the original creator is active in these times, for give a simple response of a edited version.

I would just credit to the original and I think that would be enough. :skullheart:
