ARK: Total Rebalance

Description
Mod ID: 2874066786

Initially, this mod was planned only to rebalance aquatic creatures, but has turned into something much more global. Now this is a complete rebalance of all the creatures and weapons that are in the game, aimed at returning the atmosphere of the old ARK and adding a bit of logic and realism to the game. Have you ever wondered why a compound bow cuts through armor better than firearms and even explosives, or why a huge Spinosaurus has fewer hit points than some much smaller creatures?

The mod is balanced for both PvP and PvE and will allow you to get a completely different game experience.

Please read this before installing the mod

1. The mod must be listed first in the server/local game mod list because it modifies the dino targeting teams. If the mod is not loaded first, many creatures will be moved to the null team, which will result in them being unable to damage each other while wild (although carnivores will still try to attack herbivores and each other).

2. The mod replaces the vanilla primal character, so any characters that existed on your server/local game prior to installing the mod will be broken. To fix this, just create new character. Also, your save may stop working after deleting the mod.

3. Since the mod remaps a huge amount of vanilla assets and was made by one person, it may contain some bugs. I would be very grateful if you report any bugs you encounter in the relevant topic in the discussions.

General changes

The full list of changes is too long to list it in the description and will be published later after preparation.

You can find the list of creature stat changes here[docs.google.com].

Of the main changes:

1. The stats of absolutely all creatures have been remapped in accordance with their size, assumed physiology and role. Flyers now have more stamina pools (more pleasing to the eye), but higher flight stamina costs and less maneuverability. Small land creatures are now much faster, and even without leveling up are definitely better mounts than your two legs even after leveling up to 200% speed. Model sizes and the tiers of many creatures have also been changed. All creatures now take some time to reach their maximum speed.

2. The system of bleeding, poisons and venoms has been completely overhauled. Attacks by almost all predators with serrated teeth cause minor bleeding, which can be stopped with bandages. Robots, golems and some other creatures are immune to bleeding and poisons. Some creatures are only immune to certain poisons or venoms (for example, swamp predators are immune to batrachotoxins from Beelzebufo and Diplocaulus, but not to giant arthropod venom).

3. The speed of projectiles (arrows, bolts, etc.) has been increased to realistic values.

4. Armor-piercing values of weapons and dino attacks have also been changed. Many predators with a powerful bite will pierce armor better than creatures with a cutting bite that causes bleeding. Firearms and explosives are more devastating against players and dinos than arrows, bolts and other primitive weapons. Once-useless items like the electric prod are now really useful and use mechanics (like the electrical stunning) that were added to the game later. Tek tier is now truly superior to metal tier, which means that Tek weapons do more damage to metal structures than it do to Tek structures.

5. Improved dino AI, smaller and weaker wild creatures now run away from larger and stronger creatures instead of ignoring or fighting them. Herbivores can behave aggressively towards predators. Very few creatures will fight you to the death, most will choose to run away if they take serious damage. The number of teams has been increased, so predators of similar sizes now fight with each other. The interaction of creatures with other creatures and the player is greatly expanded (for example, the behavior of males and females may differ, and some predators hunt only certain types of prey).

Spawn codes

Spawn codes generated by the APK Code Generator can be found here[drive.google.com].

Please note that not all mod objects that you can spawn are present in the game.

Compatibility

The mod uses mostly remapping of existing objects, and adds little new content, so it will conflict with any creature/weapon remapping mods, but works well with mods that add new content.

Known issues

1. Some creatures whose attack is supposed to stop movement (and does so in the editor) do not stop movement in the game. Apparently this bug occurs due to the fact that the version of the editor is older than the version of the game, and will fix itself when the editor is updated.

2. Carcharodontosaurus has not yet been remapped and is missing from the mod\'s spawners. This is because the editor has not been updated and will be fixed as soon as the editor update is released.

Since the mod is really huge and was created by one person, it may contain some bugs (although most of them have been fixed since the first upload). I will be grateful if you report any bugs you encounter in the discussion.

im not sure if youre still updating this mod but on the off chance you could be can you please make it so when you're riding your mount and jump it maintains the acceleration? I like to jump a bunch when riding my dinos and it slows me down :( I love this mod otherwise!

Mod causes stone arrows to become incompatible with other mods that require them as of 1/18/23

@JungleJay

For ASA, a more stable and lighter version (where some dinos will be reworked through buffs rather than remapping) of this mod will be implemented in the future. But I don’t know how long it will take to port the existing changes to UE5.

This mod is excellent will it be ported to ASA?

Wow, this looks pretty smart and well thought. I wonder if hunger of wild predators can influence their behavior, so they don't pray on every single creature they see and only kill to eat.
I was thinking that excessive torpor should kill, like overdose of tranq, and combine it with different kinds of tranqs so you can make strong ones for huge creatures to take less shots but the risk of killing a smaller animal if hit with a strong one

Question, does this mod change flyer spawns? The map I'm playing, Svartalfheim, is supposed to be a no-flyer map where they don't spawn but when I installed this mod, I have some flyers spawning.
