Paper Mario

Description
Paper Mario folds into battle! As he leaps from the pages of the titular franchise, Paper Mario likes to go both up close and personal and also set up for some crazy combos with the help of his large band of partners.

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: GOOMBA HEADBONK
Goombario or Goombella will appear in front of Paper Mario to perform their famous headbonk attack. They move in a slow arc, and will disappear if they hit a wall or the ground, but are good at keeping your opponents at bay. Whether one Goomba or the other appears will not affect the hitboxes in any way.

SIDE SPECIAL: KOOPA SHELL TOSS
One of Paper Mario's koopa buddies, Kooper or Koops, will throw themselves out in front of Paper Mario and then boomerang back. The shell will hit your opponent twice. Once going forward and once going back. You can also hold special down to have the active Koopa stay in place for a few seconds and will zoom off as soon as you release special.

UP SPECIAL: PARAKARRY'S LIFT OFF
Parakarry will grab onto Paper Mario and lift him out of danger... for a little bit. Due to Paper Mario's thin body, but not so thin weight, Parakarry will lose his grip and go flying off leaving you to fall to the ground.

DOWN SPECIAL: BOB-OMB EXPLOSION
Paper Mario will set down either Bombette or Admiral Bobbery. They will then walk forward for a little while before automatically blowing up, or they'll stun whatever opponent they walk into and blow up then. They will be affected by gravity so be careful they don't fall off the stage. Or do, maybe that's part of your strategy. You can also press down special again to immediately set them off.

ULTRA: STAR BEAM
For his ultra, Paper Mario will make a prayer to the Star Spirits. Once they arrive they will circle around and create a large beam of light to hit opponents multiple times before blasting them off to the blast zone. The beam is extremely tall, so it will be good against anyone recovering high or is right above you, but it will not hit below you so be wary of that. You will also be invincible while the beam is active but afterwards you will be left open.

OTHER NOTES

SIDE TILT: Watt
Mario quickly holds out Watt in front of him to electrify anybody in his way. The shock deals a little extra stun on the enemy allowing for the chance to lead up with some crazy combos.

DOWN TILT: RACOON
A very quick down tilt that is only active for a couple frames, has abysmal reach and attack power, but when used just right can reflect projectiles.

DASH ATTACK: SPIN DASH
Paper Mario does a quick spin to gain a bit of extra distance and catch his opponents off guard. If it hits you can immediately jump out of the ending frames. But if you miss, you'll be left open for attacks.

UP STRONG: SUPERGUARD
The Superguard is only active for one single frame and you have to be right on the opponent, but it can knock them pretty far and you can immediately act out of it via shield or jumping ONLY if it hits. If you miss, good luck being left even more open for enemy attacks. The Superguard must be used wisely.

LEFT AND DOWN STRONG: HAMMER
Left and down strongs are unique in that they both can be charged twice if you hold the strong attack longer. While it may be quicker to just use it uncharged, it'll be worth it if you can hit your opponent with a double charged hammer.

DOWN AIR: SPIN JUMP/THUDLEY
Paper Mario will perform a ground pound which will not stop until he reaches the ground. If it hits an opponent the first time, he can bounce off of them as he sends them to their doom. However, the second time you try it and if you haven't touched the ground yet, you will go right through the oppnent so you won't be able to spam the move so easily.

Paper Mario also has compatability with the Legally Adopted Projectile. Use the tag Z_Paper if you want your character to have unique interactions with Paper Mario.

Man this one's really good - I love it when a character feels less like a workshop thing and just straight up feels like the character is officially there. Every reference is on point and it flat out feels like I'm playing Super Paper Mario.
