Description

You will need a modified workbench or the mission editor to spawn this vehicle in.
DLC is not required, but recommended for the full experience. Without it, the mounted gun will not work.
Description: HES Frjentsjer

The HES Frjentsjer is a Frjentsjer-class patrol corvette & minehunter, and the lead ship of its class. It was launched in 1999, and has remained in service with the Frisian Naval Prefecture - the defensive navy & coast guard organisation of the Kingdom of Frisia - since its introduction, alongside its 14 sister ships.

The HES Frjentsjer is a 68.5m patrol-oriented vessel intended to assist in customs & border patrol operations, as well as act as a cheap option for use in minehunting. Although often overshadowed by the Opdracht-Class, the Frjentsjer forms a vital part of the Frisian presence overseas, and also is often used for hydrographic survey. It is fitted with a single 20mm autocannon on its bow, and bears no other armament, though there is room to install more.

The HES Frjentsjer is currently assigned to the 7th Territorial Navy of the Frisian Naval Prefecture, where it conducts border patrol, military diver support and hydrographic survey operations, as well as disposal of abandoned mines left over from the Second World War.

How to Spawn

To spawn this vessel in after the new update, there are two main ways: you may either use an xml edited workbench, with which you can spawn the Frjentsjer directly in the dock, or you can use the mission editor.

In order to spawn it in via the mission editor, you must do the following;
1 - Press escape to open your menu, and find the button labelled 'add-on editor' with a flag icon.
2 - Click the plus sign beside 'environment mods', and find the location you want to spawn it at. You may have to scroll for a while.
3 - Once you find the location you want, click it to add it, and then click the arrow sign when it is added to the list. This will take you into an editing menu.
4 - Click the steering wheel at the bottom, and load in the Frjentsjer as you would in a normal workbench. Optionally, you may want to set the vehicle to show on the map using the menu on the left.
5 - Click the three lines at the top of your screen, and then press the 'test location' button (flag icon) next to the arrow sign.

Once that is done, simply go to the place you spawned in the vehicle, and you will be able to find it. This works for /all/ ships that are larger than the workbench, including my HES Opdracht and HES Jitte.

Start-Up Checklist
The HES Frjentsjer has a fairly straightforward start-up procedure;
1 - Enter the bridge. On the port (left) side of the bridge, there will be a panel with circuit breakers. Turn all of them on.
2 - Go to the console in the middle of the room, and turn the 'fuel valve' key on.
3 - Turn the 'clutch' throttle lever up to your desired amount (ideally full).
4 - Turn the ignition key on. The Frjentsjer's engine will start, and it will begin to move.

Once that is done, you are free to move the vessel. The helm next to those buttons can be used to steer the ship. The console to your left will show the depth sonar, the monitor in the middle will control the heading hold, and the monitor to the right will display RPS and temperature information about the Frjentsjer's two diesel engines.

Usage Q&A

How can I use the autocannon turret?
Enter the bridge, and look to the back. There will be a pilot seat facing the wall. Simply enter the seat, and turn on the switches to enable the console and weapon.

How do I refuel the ship?
I really don't know how you manage to use the ship for long enough to need to refuel, but it's pretty simple. On both sides of the ship (near the middle), there is a little orange hose anchor in a small hole in the deck. Simply attach the fuel hose to it, and press the button to turn on the pumps to pump into the fuel tank.

Why is it taking so long to sink?
Bulkheads.

Where can I find the ropes and hoses?
The orange 'bags' dotted all over the walls of the ship are actually hidden inventories. They store ropes, cables and hoses (some only have ropes, depending on where they are). This is where you can find the ropes you need. Alternatively, you can also just take them from the mast, or from winches that have them attached.

Why is it so slow compared to your other ships?
The Frjentsjer uses conventional propeller and rudder propulsion rather than waterjets like the Jitte and Opdracht, making it much slower than both. Unfortunately, I can't easily fix the turning without adding bow thrusters (which would drain power and be generally annoying to implement meaningfully). Control surfaces are fairly weak - this is a stormworks issue, not mine. It should also be noted that the Frjentsjer is more torquey than the Jitte and Opdracht, meaning you can use the winch array on the stern to pull larger vessels.

How do I operate the stern winch?
Take the rope attached to a rope anchor, and attach that to the vehicle you want to tow. There will be a console beside the winch (left side of the ship) which will allow you to lengthen or retract said rope. Given this is the largest size of winch, you can get it to go pretty far back easily, and you can also use it for minesweeping if you can somehow devise a system to get that to work in Stormworks.

Where is the autopilot?
There isn't one, as it would be unrealistic for a ship of its era. However, there is a heading hold, which is located on the helm console. It should be fairly self-explanatory how to use it. The heading hold will keep you going in a straight line.

Something that's meant to be working isn't working. What do I do?
Please make sure you comment below what it is that isn't working. Either I missed something in testing, or you are doing something wrong. If something is broken, I will update the vehicle file with a fixed version, and if you're doing something wrong, I'll be more specific in what you need to do.

Wait, I have more questions!
Direct your questions to the comment section below. I read and respond to all of my comments.

Known Errors

Lowered FPS when sonar is active
This is a game issue rather than my own, but the sonar is very laggy when on active mode. If you want to minimise lag, make sure it's always set to passive unless you need it. You can turn off other bridge monitors that you don't need to compensate.
