F-208 "Sunstreaker" Point-Defence Interceptor

The F-208, nicknamed "Sunstreaker" for its ability to climb seemingly beyond the sun, is a point-defence interceptor designed to takeoff, intercept a bomber as quickly as possible using an internal rocket pack, and return to base for rearming. After the concept of unguided rocket packs was deemed obsolete for air combat, external pylons for missiles and a gunpod were added.

STARTUP CHECKLIST:
1:On the left side panel, switch 'engine on'. adjust lights as necessary.
2: switch 'arm RWR buzzer' and 'arm fuel leak buzzer' if required. These switches only toggle the audio buzzer, not the warning lights.
3: On the center panel below the dogfight radar scope, turn on the HUD
4: Turn on the 'src radar POWER' and 'src radar EMIT' for search radar. After the radar is on, you can turn off 'src radar EMIT'.
5: Turn on 'dogfight radar POWER' if required.
6: Canopy switch is located on the floor, OR behind the pilots head to the left
7: To taxi, release the parking brake, to the bottom left of the search radar screen. Turn on nosewheel steering.
NOTE: the parking brake also activates a thrust brake in the engine. so make sure to keep it released during flight :P


FLIGHT STATS:

Max speed: 210 M/S

Minimum speed: 60 M/S
(if you go too slow, the thicc engine will make the plane pitch up uncontrollably unless you override flight control)

Max internal fuel: 18000 L
(this save is currently loaded with 5400 L to save weight :P)
Fuel Consumption: 1.5L/S max throttle, aka 90 L/min or 5400 L/hr

FLIGHT PERFORMANCE:

The F-208 is an dedicated interceptor, and its flight performance reflects that, boasting impressive climb and maximum speed. It is fairly agile at most speeds.
If one needs to override the flight control system. there is a button labelled "SAS OFF" on the bottom left of the radar screen. This is only recommended for very slow speed dogfights, or when in a spin.
Speaking of spins, DO NOT turn too hard at speeds above ~195 M/S, the flight control system won't be able to stop the turn without control overrides. whoops :P

WEAPONS:
There are 4 external hardpoints, a central gunpod, and two retractable unguided rocket trays.
Weapons are armed/disarmed with the switch panel below the HUD. Each pair of pylons is launched one-by-one.

You can strap whatever the hell you want onto the hardpoints, but they have no provision for external fuel tanks.

The plane has 26 chaff available, with a counter on the warning light panel. Chaff is armed on the left side, below the engine dials.

AVIONICS:

There is a static 'dogfight' radar with a .12*.12 FOV for close range tracking. Data from this radar is transmitted to the dogfight radar scope AND the HUD.

When radar is on, white cross appears. Red dots are radar contacts, green line shows CLOSEST CONTACT

Radio controls are located on the right side, features a huge radar antenna.
