WABSIM is a train brake simulation microcontroller designed around mimmicking the North American Westinghouse Air Brake. The system is completely logic-driven and has no external factors such as fluid tanks. Commands are carried over coupler connectors rather than Hoses or Cables in order to reduce lag and drag on long trains. The controls are very similar, nearly identical to those of games like Train Sim World.

This variant of WABSIM is designed around an auto-lapping brake setup, used mostly on everything but steam locomotives and very early diesel locomotives. A manual lapping variant for steam engines can be found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2964555875
Manual lapping for vintage diesels is on the way

Operation:

Gauges and their meanings:
MR=Main Reservoir
EQ=Equalizing Reservoir
BP=Brake Pipe (reading from the front)
Rear=(Brake Pipe PSI from the end of the train if an EOTD is attached to read it)

Lead Locomotive
Cut in the Brake valve and set the Mu2A to lead (turn both key buttons on)

Trailing locomotives
cut out Brake Valve and set Mu2A to Trail (keep both key buttons off)

The brakes are controlled by the lead locomotive.

The independent Brake Handle controls the locomotive brakes. The higher the Braking Cylinder value the more the brakes are applied.

The automatic Brake Handle controls the entire train brake.
The Handle adjusts the pressure of the Equalizing Reservoir and the Brake pipe adjusts to match the pressure of the Equalizing reservoir. The lower the Brake Pipe value, the more the brakes are applied. Max PSI is 90.

The Automatic Brake can be applied from released all the way to full service, however there are other stronger modes for more dire situations.

Suppression exists to match any Braking Penalty applications caused by any advanced braking systems IRL. In game it will just drop you to about 60PSI. Handle off is what the handle is set to in order to disengage the handle IRL along with slowly draining the Equalizing reservoir and Brake Pipe sub-sequentially. Emergency Application will immediately dump the Equalizing reservoir and Brake Pipe in order to apply the train brake as fast as possible. Keep in mind that the brake pipe has to be recharged so any applications below 60PSI are usually for emergency situations only.

The Automatic Brake Can not be gradually reduced and must be fully reset to the off position and reset in order to reduce braking force. The longer the train the longer it will take for the automatic brake to respond. There is also considerable delay on long trains for the rear Brake Pipe Pressure and the front, attaching an EOTD to the end of the train can drain from the rear to decrease how long it takes,

Automatic brakes also apply to the locomotives, however this can be overidden by pushing the independent brakes into the "Bail Off" position. Automatic Brakes will not apply to the locomotive brakes again until they are either reset or increased from the original position they were bailed off from.

An EOTD "End of Train Device" is a red light at the end of the train that is more useful than it looks. This EOTD will output the distance it is from the lead locomotive along with the Brake Pipe Pressure at the end of the train. It can also be used to brake at the end of the train as stated earlier by flipping the EOTD Emergency switch.

WABSIM logically simulates train brakes however Stormworks physics may cause unrealistic operation or braking time. This is due to the base game and cannot be reasonably avoided.
