Description
(This mod requires Biotech DLC installed and activated)

Makes biotech buildings reinstallable/uninstallable. This mod updates these buildings: Mech Gestator, Large Mech Gestator,
Mech Recharger, Large Mech Recharger, Subcore Encoder, Subcore Softscanner, Subcore Ripscanner, Band Node, Toxifier Generator,
Wastepack Atomizer, Gene Assembler, Gene Extractor, Gene Processor, and Growth Vat

WARNINGS: If you have a mech in a gestator and uninstall or re-install it, the mech is lost. If you uninstall or re-install an occupied growth vat, the contents are ejected, and it becomes unusable because it thinks it is still occupied but the cancel action fails, so don't do that. Moving an occupied scanner seems to require you cancel the operation after it is re-installed but still works after, probably best to avoid that also.

This should be safe to install or remove on an existing save.

2025-07-09 - Tested and updated compatibility for 1.6

2024-04-11 - Tested and updated compatibility for 1.5. Improved dependency list and mod structure to avoid errors if Biotech is not active.

@Zorg, I'd be ok with that idea, but I don't think there's a way to change that just in the data files. If I do come across one I might add it.

I think (for balance) it should take exponentially more work to uninstall and re-install larger structures, based on their footprint.
Big structures *can* be disassembled and moved, however you need a good reason to ever choose to do so.

Hey, i was wondering. Do you think you can make a movable generators mod?

I play with Rimfactory and i hate how the scenario is meant to start you with 2 wood-fueled generators but one get's placed down and the other just doesn't appear. And i think it's due to generators not able to be uninstalled. so a mod adding that would a GOD SEND for me.

Just a heads up: I loaded this on an existing save and had a lifter ready for birthing in the mech gestator. When I uninstalled the mech gestator, the gestated mech was lost.

nice :) reogranized my base to move the biotech stuff out of the main crafting room to its own room... then I realized a lot of stuff couldnt be moved

@Jojojay, look in my wokrshop for my other Movable mods, there is already one to move research benches. For caskets I would have to make a new mod or add it to one of the others, I may look into that.
