Description
Tiered Mega Pack
This mod covers all vanilla blocks (Small/Large). The main focus of this mod is to create tiered blocks that are server performance friendly or somehow limited to save performance.
As an example: A tier 4 block is worth 16 vanilla blocks but you only have to build 1 block and there is only 1 functioning. It also prevents the need of building big. This is how it can save performance.

In case of DLC blocks:
Tiered DLC Blocks stay locked behind the DLC. If this mod includes DLC blocks, you need to "OWN" the DLC to use them. I am not unlocking these blocks for everyone.
As far as im aware, not owning the DLC shouldnt prevent you from using this mod for just the base game blocks.

The general stats:
- T1: 2x Vanilla
- T2: 2x T1
- T3: 2x T2
- T4: 2x T3

The tiered blocks have a PCU increase factor of 1,8 (you get a little bonus) but they do increase to balance.
There are custom components made to balance the cost and prevent building them until a certain stage in youre progression.
All blocks are included in the research tree, are fully intergrated in the G menu and queueable from the assembler menu.

ACTUAL SUGGESTION: Setting aside the fulsome praises, how about O2/H2 generators? From other SE threads, I have seen people suggest that O2/H2 generators can have some impact on performance, and it takes like 5 or 10 generators to fill a single large H2 tank in any reasonable time.

I think your same exponential approach would work great for these.

H2 tanks, OTOH, seem like a candidate for NOT tiering. Managing the volume of gas tanks preserves gameplay challenges like building/operating gas tankers, protecting tank surface area on warships, etc. And they're not particularly high PCU or system resource intensive.

P.S. I know that PCU generally are supposed to crudely approximate system resource/server performance load, which means one of your high tier blocks should normally be the same PCU as a low tier version of the same block type. But using the PCU stat as an abstracted additional block cost parameter for gameplay balance is pretty great, and I imagine fits in with PCU limits on MP servers (provided they're higher than the official Keen servers, to allow building some moderately PCU-expensive ships with the tier blocks).

THe Huge Blocks mods opted to balance increased block performance with increased block size. Both mod approaches are pretty nifty and somewhat complementary trade-offs.

These are excellent! Due to an ore dist mod, I finally reached a platinum source in my current world, and am learning how to balance power consumption, block performance, weight, etc.

I particularly like how jump drives are a real trade-off -- a low-block courier jump ship isn't going to make efficient use of T4 jump drives. T0 (vanilla) and T1 jump drives still play a role despite me now rolling in platinum, and that's pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to your treatment of power production!

This has become one of my go-to mods when I make a new local game or DS world. I agree with Zuramax, "simple, strong and balanced". Good jorb!

any chance we could get tiered reactors and solar panels as well? I'd like for my builds to be as compact as possible, and 10000 solar panels every which way is not great

Well the reason there isnt and wont be any tiered drills is that this modpack is aimed to be usefull on servers and rather improving performance then hurting it. Tiered blocks make builds smaller and so does it save performance. Voxel damage/changes and server loading all these voxel changes hurts the performance.
