Description
[Given that I haven't played this game in months and don't plan to return, these ships are likely very outdated]

This mod contains 14 starter ships. 7 of the 14 are optimizations of the default Starters, which at a minimum increase starting crew to 12. Note that this doesn't increase the amount of total crew available - 3 or 6 of the available 18 0-Fame Crew from the start of the game are effectively already hired.

4 Model-S Starter variants:
-The Standard variant increases Crew from 6 to 12. Flies 5m/s faster. Lose 2200 starting credits.
-The Starwright variant is designed for the Starwright Economic Difficulty. It sacrifices a little bit of forward thrust and a storage bay (although the space remains). It flies 0.6m/s slower than the Original Model-S.
-Tri-Laser variant increases Crew from 6 to 12. Adds a third Laser. Flies 3m/s slower. Lose 2200 starting credits.
-Tri Starwright variant is designed for Starwright Economic Difficulty. It sacrifices all of it's armour and it's storage bay. It flies 4m/s faster than the Original Model-S.

2 Model-L Starter variants:
-The Standard variant increases Crew from 9 to 12, adds a third storage bay, and has slightly better armour. It flies 2m/s faster. Lose 1600 starting credits.
-The Starwright variant is designed for the Starwright Economic Difficulty. It sacrifices 2 storage bays (although the space remains), and flies 2m/s faster than the Original Model-L.

1 Model-C Starter variant:
-Increases Crew from 9 to 12. Flies 22m/s faster. The sides are better armoured, although the front is slightly more fragile. Lose 150 starting credits. This Model is also cheap enough for Starwright Economic Difficulty.


7 New ships:

Model-SC:
-2 Cannons and a Shield, 12 Crew, flies 37m/s faster than Model-C and 1m/s faster than Model-S. 1 less storage bay and slightly less horizontal thrust than Model-C.

Model-HL:
-Heavy Laser + Shield, this ship only starts with 8 crew and lacks any storage.

Model-LC:
-The Model-C upgraded with 2 Large Cannons. 12 Crew, but less armoured.

Model-LCS:
-Large Cannon + Shield. 12 Crew with half the usual Cannon ship storage and less thrust, though higher speed due to lower weight.

Model-I:
-Ion Beam. Lacks any storage, but has sufficient reverse thrust to keep it mostly out of harms way and exploit the range of its Ion Beam. This is a challenging start.

Model-M:
-Standard variant has a Mining Laser, 6 Crew, and 2 4x4's of storage. It has expansion room for an additional 3x4 storage without otherwise modifying the ship.
-PD variant halfs its storage to 4 2x2's, but flies 35m/s faster and adds a pair of Point Defense.

@CurtimusPrime92 That's because its a ship pack not a mod. When you start a new game and are selecting your ship there should be a button labeled "use your own ship" or something like that if you press that you should be able to select a ship from this pack

Getting a shield quickly vastly increases the effectiveness of the Model-I. From there, sticking with the Ion theme, I'd work up to 4 emitters combined down to 2 beams (upgrading power and crew as needed) - don't reduce to 1 beam, it's not worth it yet. Until you encounter Disruptors, using prisms near the front of the ship to aim will make combat simple, because you can hide them behind a shield or two and there are few ships that can burn through them. Once disruptors become common, you'll want to focus more on maneuverability and bury your prisms deeper in the ship, at which point you'll also want to pick up a sensor to make better use of your range.

Don't use this ship for storage. It's always better to have a 2nd ship as your mining/storage/factory that you can scavenge a sector with after clearing it
