Abspecies

Description
This mod was originally supposed to be a solution to the problem of having two species with different human portraits not recognising each other as human. It somewhat expanded into allowing for having Abhumans and Abspecies so, now you can role-play as for example; humans that don't call each other humans, or maybe a subspecies of Humanity that evolved into dwarfs or elves. It also allows for the alliance of human fanatic purifiers with dwarven abhuman fanatic purifiers.

What does the mod do?
The mod adds 16 traits that can be used for merging different species into subspecies of eachother. The normal traits allow for the creation of two such species mergers per species class, while the Universal traits allow for mergers across species classes.

Setup
  • Create a species with a Abspecies trait and species class.
  • Using the Universal Abspecies traits bypasses the requirement for a matching species class, but the traits still need to match.
  • Have another species with the exact same Abspecies trait and species class, as using other Abspecies traits and species class won't work.
  • Set the other species to be force spawned or in the case of multiplayer have a friend have a species with the same trait.
  • The Abspecies traits will be automatically removed after game start.

Compatibility
Besides prescripted_countries, this mod also doesn't overwrite any vanilla files, so it should stay compatible with most mods.

Sorry, it conflicted with an origin in another mod which caused it to not work correctly. The two used to work fine together, so I think the new update's changes to the pop system are to blame.

if i do lost colony for all of them (hence commonwealth of man) will they all see the one who doesnt have it as homeworld, such as the united earth? @xyre

Should be fixed for game start conditions. I added an event that removes those traits after a day of ingame time if they weren't removed previously.

It appears that using the nascant stage trait, the mod will not remove the traits from your pre-sapient pops. (I also noticed this for the diaspora mod!)

Yes. They are exclusive to eachother as they do different things. Universal Abspecies ignores species restrictions as it is supposed to be used with species from different species classes and mods, while the regular abspecies variant is used for regular species classes.

Are Abspecies and Universal Abspecies exclusive to each other? Because I have an empire of each type and they're showing up as different species entirely.
