[HDI] OS-Orbital Drydock Ring-445

Description
Manufacturer: [HDI] Hephaestus Defense Industries

Series Line: Omega Series

Ship Class: Orbital Drydock Ring

Registry #: 445

Ship Name: Unlisted

Designation: OS-ODR-445

The ODR is a mobile orbital platform capable of jumping to new locations. Onboard systems allows the base to act as a functional fully furnished base with material processing and construction infrastructure. Although not designed for combat purposes, it is able to leave a hostile area under its own power but it wont be winning any races.

While able to function as a bystation for refueling, ammo restocking, and as a production plant, the main purpose of this ODR is to act as an FOB for factions to establish a presence in a given area. Medical wing allows crew to spawn on the ring with no issues.

Small grid oriented landing pad allows direct access to the hab module where most everything is controlled. Auxilary helm at the top of the center ring acts as a backup in case the hab module gets destroyed.

Inner ring connectors allow [HDI] ships easy docking access. 2 connectors (one on each side) allows the base to dock 2 welder craft in order to produce products on the spot from a blueprint in the projector. Be aware, building inside the ring can be hazardous to weld craft if the pilot is not wary of the ring.

Base Lore:

The ODR is a somewhat new addition to the equipment developed by [HDI] in that the project was actually offered by Nicholas Vettri in A.E. 139 during a thought experiment at Ordeon Academy. Previously, bulky and immobile bases were used, built in place, and unable to function in high orbit locations. The concept was initially disregarded but it was submitted to Exec. Valentine Johnson via email and immediately given to the R&D department. It was not only viable but would save billions in construction, payroll, and hazard costs. The first one completed was designated as the Vettri Orbital. It does not function in a military capacity but Nicholas and his family have a permanent residence on it and it serves as a basic waystation orbiting Pertam. It was produced and donated to the family as a good will gesture considering how much was saved due to the new project.

Glad you like it! It is on the older side and I have been considering going through and updating all of my work. Maybe I'll add some propulsion modules to it to help placement.

I have some problems moving the base itself, but thats probably just cause i have it parked or something. other than that, its great to use!

That's pretty cool.

Thanks so much! For additional context, I'm using it as a mission where you have to repair the grid back to near-original condition using a welding ship/hand welder, and then a reward is given.

I see. That is interesting. Well this is fine. Hope it works well for you.

Hi Sevyrs,

I realized that my request may have been unclear before, so I wanted to circle back to clarify that our intention is to make a few changes to the grid in order to fit with our mod pack, such as adding a beacon or changing the power/weapons loadout, which will require a reupload. We've provided a link to your mod along with your name and full credit for the design on the page: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2439923690 .

I apologize if my original request was unclear; please let us know if you'd like us to stop using it.

Yes. I stuck it under one of the stairs in the center of the ship.

I see. On board projector?

I'm going to record a video of me taking the Eleuthera out for battle and back in for repairs. The ship is just a /i hair /i too big for the repair station, so for now I'm going to trim down the side runners.

I can only imagine! Should take a screenshot. I'd love to see it.
