Description
Jump King jumps his way into Rivals of Aether!

The titular main character of your favourite tactical leaping adventure makes their way into Rivals of aether. Jam-packed with references to the original game (and others!), Jump King is an all-rounder, rushdown fighter with a few tricks up his sleeve.

USpecial : Jump. He jumps. Wow. A very strong yet vulnerable recovery that can be charged, and floats you down gently while charging if used in the air. And don't worry, the king's learned how to control himself in the air. Just a little.

FSpecial : Grab. Jump King grabs you like the hot babe you are. Has directional outcomes, including a piledriver and a basic downward and upward throw.

DSpecial : Summon. Jump King summons a friend to aid him, the character you summon is based on which item you've collected.

NSpecial : Use the power of magic (?) to stun nearby enemies and become invulnerable to projectiles for a period of time!


Summon mechanic

You have 2 items you can collect, the Gold Ring and the Ghost Fragment. These are shown on the hud. If one item is collected, progress to the other will be set to zero.

Gold Ring : Can be collected by landing any strong attacks. Using DSpecial whilst the Gold Ring is collected will summon Megildus Dreeg. He will (attempt to) bash a nearby enemy with his gramofone once before disappearing.

Ghost Fragment : Can be collected by landing any aerials. Using DSpecial whilst the Fragment is collected will summon the Babe Ghost. The ghost will damage enemies that touch it. The ghost will float permanently at the spot she was summoned in.

Using DSpecial whilst having nothing will summon the Gnome. He sits there. Might bite the enemy if they get too close. Summoning gnome clears all current progress to either item.

Using DSpecial has a 10 second cooldown.

Using DTilt whilst having either item will extend the attack.


Other fun stuff:

You can cancel dash attack into fstrong to slide around!
Nair throws a little shield around you for a little bit!
You can hold taunt!
Has lots of cool compatabilities!
This is my first rivals character!
Jump King has lots of powerful spikes. His past of suffering will not go unshared.

few nitpicks i know you didnt ask for but i like this character alot so here goes

- i think the treasures should be obtained by # of times you jump, the more you jump the more rewarding the treasures. it would be a really neat fit for jump king to have the incentive to keep jumping 24/7, no other character could pull that off. (up b could be extra "points"!) hes good at it anyway!

- some hitboxes feel way too small, inconsistent and slow to be considered useful like ustrong, bair, and dair. they dont have to be crazy, but i only really find myself using dattack, utilt, uair, dstrong, and his specials. every other move is a misinput (imo uair is just a better bair, it covers his back faster than bair, does 2% less damage than bair, and is wayyy bigger)

- uspecial not having prat fall would make jumping look a lot more like it does ingame which would be neat for visuals, combos, and for chasing at high percents

a bit hard to kill. might i suggest giving forward aerial a bit more killpower? that and upstrong.

I got it now, I think it takes a little bit too long for you to get the items tho, and being able to visualize how far away you are from gaining the item would be really good(maybe the symbol slowly fills up as you land your attacks).

Another suggestion, I think giving him a hitbox during his upb fall animation would work really well.

Also wanted to say I really enjoy his nair, really fun to use.

summoning gnome clears all your item progress, also only the last hit of multihit attacks give progress

I land strong attacks and aerials but never get any item

The animations are a bit stiff, but the character is decent overall
