Roleplay Descriptors

Description
Adds assets for RP purposes!

Allows for pinning papers onto the wall! Simply craft a pinned sheet of paper, and place it anywhere in the world. Whatever is written on the note will be retained, whether you are pinning it up, or tearing it down!

For admins/event moderator's, there are spawn-able exclamation point & question mark items that work the same as normal sheets of paper, but are much more noticeable. There are 10 distinct color variations of each symbol! These descriptors are currently not craft-able in-game, though a recipe could easily be added.

Regarding Modpacks & Changes to Our Mod

We are completely fine with servers throwing this into their modpacks and making tweaks as they see fit, that is sorta the whole goal! These tools are useful for moderation staff and players alike, giving more ways to set scenes and express characters- So, go for it!

That being said...

If you decide to add this mod to your server, either on its own, or in your servers modpack- consider dropping a comment and letting us know what server you are coming from, and/or how you plan on using them! Would be cool to know this mod is getting some use! :)

If it's tied to lots of writing I wonder it's conflicting with our extended journals. It makes the journals have like 60 pages or something. I wonder if it's connected at all. I've asked for the people I know who have video of it to get it to me and I'll send it your way.

@badatthis Hey! I'm not 100% sure what the issue might be. I sent you a friend request, in case you'd like to share that video.

The exclamations and question marks are basically just re-skinned pieces of paper. If I had to guess, it could be due to lots of writing? The way the game holds information on things can lead to some silly outcomes at times. Appreciate the heads up! :)

I've seen on multiple servers people mention that spending considerable time around the exclaims causes lag. Instances of whenever you turn and one is in your cone of vision the game lags. Or picking them up improves gameplay performance.

Some use the words memory leak becasue it seems to get worse with time. I personally haven't experienced this but it's prevalent enough that I want to address it.

I've got video that shows examples of it. I'm curious if this is a known thing or if there's another reason for it. I'm in full troubleshooting mode so please share if there's a reason or solution for this.

Are normal players suppose to be able to place blue markers? I can place blue ones when I'm not on admin.

@Captain Brandon, I found a small unpleasant bug. Look at line 154 in the Descriptor_models.txt file, it should say "scale = 1," not "scale = scale = 1,"

@tanuki Hey! Thanks for mentioning it! It is a known issue, was a silly copy-paste error on my part when I was putting it together :lunar2019piginablanket:. When the game is loading models, the default is "1", meaning the model is loaded at 100% of its native size. So- Even though that line does throw an error, the game should always default to back to the value anyways.

I would change it, but the main reason I haven't is because with 36k people currently subbed to this mod, I would hate to force everyone to update their servers, mods, etc. Odds are I wont update until I can think of anything else that would fit neatly into this mod :spiffo:

hi, inside Descriptor_models.txt you have a "scale = scale = 1," which is throwing errors. The model for PinnedPaperScrewdriver might not get loaded because of this.
