The best way for now would be to go into the mod folder and delete the pngs of whatever effects you don't want to disappear.
Despite that though, this mod is a must have for heavily modded playthroughs, or even just Fiend Folio alone. Despite saying it doesn't work with Fiend Folio (Which is partially true), it DOES help the performance. Not 100%, but it's FAR more enjoyable with this mod. There's definitely less lag, and the framerate doesn't dip nearly as low.
My computer can run vanilla and tons of other mods just fine, but for some reason, Fiend Folio just completely makes the game chug along in certain rooms (Fiend Folio HATES the Depths and Utero for some reason). This mod was super helpful to ensure that I get a more genuine Fiend Folio experience. :]
