From what I can tell, the mod only replaces sprite files, and doesn't have any lua or xml, so I doubt it's possible to customize in-game.

The best way for now would be to go into the mod folder and delete the pngs of whatever effects you don't want to disappear.

also the floor stains or whatever from stuff like dirty mind cause a lot of lag

The mod does make some things look a little weird. Poop enemies just popping out of existence when you kill them, it's a little awkward to see no puff cloud when enemies spawn so they just... appear, and I do miss the clouds of dust that bosses kick up sometimes. I kind of wish we could customize what can and can't appear or something.

Despite that though, this mod is a must have for heavily modded playthroughs, or even just Fiend Folio alone. Despite saying it doesn't work with Fiend Folio (Which is partially true), it DOES help the performance. Not 100%, but it's FAR more enjoyable with this mod. There's definitely less lag, and the framerate doesn't dip nearly as low.

My computer can run vanilla and tons of other mods just fine, but for some reason, Fiend Folio just completely makes the game chug along in certain rooms (Fiend Folio HATES the Depths and Utero for some reason). This mod was super helpful to ensure that I get a more genuine Fiend Folio experience. :]

Ahaha thank you XD But I wish I can be more useful for finding the problem, I even fresh installed isaac recently so I don't think it's a wrong download or file missing, I will try to test some more, in hope to find the bad boy

All you have to do is go into the mods folder, find "NGR", and delete the effects you want back into the game

First off, thank you so much for making this, it fixed the lag issues I was having! Second, is there a way I could re-enable certain effects? Downpour without the "down pour" feels kinda empty to me

Ok I tried the mod with all the other one deactivated, still doesn't work :( Or at least it doesn't work fully: flames are static, explosions and effects too, and note that it removes some effects of Dogma's attacks making them difficult to predict, but gibs, bones, blood on the flor, tear drops are still all there. Sorry for the trouble, this is more like a bug report than a request, no pressure at all o7

I pretty sure Revelation's effects gibs, and also some cosmetics mods might change tear effects

It doesn't work for me :( tear effects are still there and the guts+blood on the floor too The only bif mod that I have installed is Revelation, others are just cosmetics+characters, nothing that affects effects

Works great but on my garbage pc the things that kill performance the most are Trisagion, Tech Zero and the effect you get when taking pills, any way to make those not lag out?

my pc can run base isaac just fine, but my 600+ mods kinda make it harder

This is a very good performance mod despite having very few likes.
My game becomes that much more readable and the experience is improved as a whole.

If only you can do something to the fire enemies added by fiend folio, they have way too many fire effects and make my steam deck into a slide show,
