Cinema (Classic) [LS]

Description
The [LS] version of the Cinema (Classic) environment is a “lower seat” option, which puts you closer to the screen than the standard version. As a result, the screen appears larger and you can more easily lay back without tilting your neck as much if you prefer to do so while watching movies (if you’re like me and lay on the couch to watch movies, you’ll know the chin-to-chest discomfort I’m trying to avoid).

There are only a couple of changes from the standard version. The main seat is three rows lower than the original, and there are fewer audience members (it is discomforting having them behind or beside you while you’re trying to watch a movie).

The original version can be found here:

This environment is my personal take on the quintessential movie theater, reminiscent of numerous cinemas I visited at many points during the late 80s, 90s, 2000s, and on. It features a large flat screen against dark curtained walls, visible speakers, movie-themed carpet patterns, stair lights, black acoustic tile ceilings, and various other details you will probably be familiar with if you’ve ever spent time in Regal, AMC, or other large chain movie theaters during those years. There are around 200 seats featuring a handful of audience members, similar to the Cinema (Modern) environment, which help to establish the scale of the “projected” images.

For me, this environment is a great way to revisit movies that you either missed in the theater or experienced on the big screen at the time, but will likely never (or very rarely) have the chance to see at a cinema again.

If you want to really get immersed into the experience, I’d recommend looking up “Regal Cinemas Rollercoaster” or “AMC Pre-Roll Bumper” on YouTube and crank up the volume. It’s a fun way to prepare for the movie theater experience in Virtual Desktop.

Hope you enjoy!

This is hands down the most immersive movie theater cinema on the workshop. Great work

I love these cinemas. I'm sure these take a lot of work so not sure if it's too much to ask for but can you possibly make a cinema that has a lot of other viewers in it like even behind and on the side of you? Thanks for your work so far. Keep it up!

This is one of my to-go-to moviehalls in VR. The Highmaxx Cinema, the Modern Cinema and this Classic Cinema are the three I use most, they all provide a great illusion of beign in a real cinema. There are some others, also good ones thioiugh iften "unrealstic" ones, but these three are the best that I like most. Thank you!
I also like the change, watching different movies in different "locations". You helped to increase that range.

Thanks, guys.

TJX, it was actually intentional. The red Exit sign is above an emergency exit door that leads outside. The green Exit sign indicates where the interior exit door is (down and around the stairs). I plan to do more cinemas, but I'll take the note and match them up next time.

Love this. Now my go to theatre for non Imax films. Refreshing to see realistic other viewers in the seats too. Only small nitpick is the Exit signs being different colours on the left and right (Id rather they were both green). Great work.

Hi Fezzik, what about sharing your amazing works with another very active community, too? How can I send you a private message? I think it's not fair to talk about it in the Virtual Desktop workshop, as this workshop is created for and dedicated to Virtual Desktop application. Please let me know if interested. Thanks
