Large Ship Cargo Loading Rover bay Doors MK-I

Description
Need a massive rover gate for your ship?
I present:
Massive friggin 1 grid airtight gates

You read correctly, theese babies are airtight and they merge in open and closed states to make it into a single grid. this makes it viable to place on any large enough ship without the risk of damage while moving!

Button panel operations:
all button panels have its closest gate and gate ramp as button presses, and a button to initiate both doors full open/close sequence.

Gates open and close in two stages
Open/Close Gate will deploy it in half open state, making for a very nice open hangar with direction lights (Green/red same as plane light scheme)
Open/Close Gate Ramp will deploy the second stage and give you a ramp that has built in ground sensors that shuts down the hinges when its at ground level (Hopefully)

Put a cockpit down and link trigger now to the groups called:
Open/Close Gate Left
Open/Close Gate Left Ramp
Open/Close Gate Right
Open/Close Gate Right Ramp
Open/Close Gate Gates

Or:

Timer blocks are named Logic:
Put a cockpit down and link trigger now to the timer blocks called:
Logic: Trigger Gate Left
Logic: Trigger Gate Left Ramp
Logic: Trigger Gate Right
Logic: Trigger Gate Right Ramp
Logic: Trigger Gate Both

You can move the logic timer block part of the gates to a safer place onboard the ship, as everything is in groups, it shouldnt(?) break anything in the operation. You may need to link the timer blocks or groups to button panels

There are several failsafed so it should be hard to break this unless you start manually altering hinge/piston settings.

PS:
When the structure is considered a station or locked to ground via landing gears, Merge blocks have a hard time locking in closed position, the fix is to have it on a ship and start the closing sequence after takeoff

This sounds awesome! id love to see it! The answer is yes ofcourse you can use it, Thank you for asking and providing credit for the build <3

Currently using this in build, not 100% complete yet. when done could i post it with your blessing and have you written down for the part of the build?

you can just move the logic board to wherever you want, since it all works off groups, nothing should stop working,

With the landing gears blueprints, its a little more involved, you need to add the hinges and rotors to "safety 1" and "safety 2" but for the ramp i dont think i implemented any safety features, you should just need to move the panel wherever and link the corresponding timers to the buttons.

one more question: where can I put the lights/control systems besides the stern of the model? If I break them off to move them am I screwed? Or are they a debugging thing and not necessary for function?

@kennet0508
that clarifies it, thank you.
Looking at the model I didn't see a corresponding merge block for the "closed" state (visible in the open anyways) so that only furthered my confusion

I'll try out your suggestions, and see if I can implement it myself (maybe make some ridiculous super carrier)

@uddernonsense:
If you have the gate as a "station" merging doesnt always occur, it seems it needs some "movement" or help, this seems to be a limitation in the game engine as there is nothing preventing the gate from merging, a block update is all it needs to "fix it" so try placing a block and delete it, and that should trigger the game to merge it.

you can also try building the ramp on a ship or placing some thrusters, batteries, gyroscopes and a seat, then convert it to a ship and it should work just fine as long as your not standing 100% still.

The ramps are not airtight if its not merged to the bay (aka, if its moving its not airtight.)

I'm trying to learn about airtightness for this exact purpose: to make ramp doors without needing an airlock into the cargo bay from the rest of the ship.

In the gates retracted state (ramps folded, gates up), the merge blocks toward the stern/rear of the bay do not merge with anything, hence the gate is bouncing on its pistons. Is this airtight still? Or is this an oversight?

I tried reading the P.S. but I'm new and have trouble understanding

make a accumulator class assault ship using this door and the new landing gear mechanism.

now you just need to add it to a ship
