24/01/27 Nerfed the Bonus vs Large to 3

23/06/03 Updated for 3.1 with a little adjustment and bug fixes as well

Mistwalkers are maybe my favourite units in the whole game. However I've always found the Skyhawks a bit... outshined by other units in the High Elven roaster. They didn't even have a niche role to fill.
Based on the brief lore of Skyhawks I've decided to rework them and in effect it buffed them significantly to fill some roles the Shadow Walkers and Warriors couldn't do

Their range goes up to 140, a middle ground between their default 100 and shadow warriors' 180. And it's now AP and anti-large, given in lore that they are monster hunters in the Annuii mountains.

Their spacing is changed to loose formation. It never made sense to me that how can a unit "stalk" when in tight packed formation. They are mountain rangers not frontline infantry.

Their melee remained anti-infantry with their dual daggers. I lowered their melee attack down a bit and buffed their melee defense. I also increased their AP melee damage by a bit so they are no longer "weak against armor", but still far from "armor piercing". Would consider changing them to Blade Singer like AP melee units though but maybe that'll be too OP.

Now Skyhawks are truly a hybrid unit who can go against large & armored targets with their long bow while also go against infantry in melee with their dual daggers. Upkeep as a result is increased significantly.

Tell me if you like these numbers or are they a tad OP.

@Vildanis You sure the 6.1.1 hotfix hasn't fixed it? If it's just outdated table you don't need to worry about it much

Skyhawk despite being a Tier 4 unit, was a trash unit due to its low armor piercing damage.
I've always thought about reworking it, but you have a great mod. Thank you, I will test it.

@UltraRanger Their price is normal, but the bonus against large targets should be taken away. They shoot almost in a straight line like gunpowder units, and they can also penetrate several models in a straight line, as a result, it turns out that large units evaporate almost instantly under their volleys. Due to the appearance of armor-piercing in their shots, they will cope well with cavalry even without a bonus against large targets.

@abaka Let me think about adjusting the values a little bit. I'll maybe make them more expensive as well.

I tested this mod in the campaign and quick battles and I can say that they are just too strong and versatile. The mere addition of armor-piercing already makes them too strong for the money, and the improvement in firing range and ammunition makes them completely insane. And an advantage against large targets? For shooters, this is an ultra-rare ability and for good reason: any large squad (including lords) is killed in almost three volleys. In their current form, they are doing the Avelorn sisters in terms of efficiency. These guys need a little more armor-piercing so that they can turn not only light infantry and shooters into minced meat. Nothing more.
