Description

About
There are many guided missile ships on Steam Workshop, but I couldn't find one that a single player can operate the whole ship. So I made one.

There are many buttons on the cockpit, but I don't think the detailed manual is necessary. This gif will help you figure out how to use the EOTS/radar system.


Story
At first, my goal was just a simple ship with some missiles on it, but you know it's Stormworks, I couldn't stop. I added a lot of features that were not planned initially. So, it is not organized enough that some might say it looks like spaghetti inside(at least I do), but it works anyway.

The hull is originated from S&D AI destroyer, but I made some changes for more buoyancy and better looks. But It's design is fundamentally defected with high center of mass and narrow width. So I had to add an active weight stabilizer and a lot of weight blocks to the bottom.

Because of those reasons I'm moving on from this ship to a new planned one, with organized MCs and more features like sonar systems and newly designed hulls.


Features/Specifications



  • 1 player crew operatable
  • 236kmph+ cruising speed (Fully armed, high speed cruise mode.)
    • 61k nuclear generator and 15 large electric motors, 15 fluid jets.
    • 0-200kmph less than 3 seconds
  • 3 drive modes. High speed cruise, normal, rough weather. It affects how the fluid jets work.
  • 50 Missiles (32 radio coordinate guided VLS, 18 ARH)
    • Variable radio frequencies
    • 4 EOTS(3 short ranged, 1 long ranged)
    • VLS Missiles can also be guided by radars/lasers that integrated into turrets
    • Theoretically 6 simultaneous engagement is possible. (But practically only 3, due to the limits of the game and the performance of radar systems.)
  • Some reserved spaces, that you can fill in with whatever you wants.
  • Radar/Manual(with Rangefinder) Guided Battle Cannon Turret (Can hit the cruising air targets within 1km, if the weather is calm enough.)
  • Performance Friendly (I did my best. You can put physical flooders in the reactor room and the motor room for performance optimization.)

Troubleshooting
  • The ship is slow af.
    • You have to wait until the nuclear generator starts up.(About a minute) Before that, the ship cannot sail as fast as described.
  • Some fluid jets seems broken. There's no water coming out from the nozzles.
    • There are visual glitches with fluid jets. When you're moving fast, visual effects of some fluid jets will be skipped. Despite of it, the fluid jets are working just fine. It's just visual.
    • It seems putting 15 fluid jets on a single ship to go ridiculously fast is not the way the devs intended.

Tips
  • VLS missiles will follow the selected radio channel at the moment when the launch is triggered. Select other channels after the launch won't affect the missile. This way you can attack multiple targets simultaneously.
  • You can also guide VLS missiles using turrets's lasers. Check out FN-20's target designator manuals. You can turn off the laser once you got coordinates.
  • If the wave is too high, just slow down. Rough weather mode has its limits.

This ship is at least 2 years old and is still the best missile ship that I have found on the steam workshop
