This works for me too.
Personally i have my 40 full and will pound through 3-4 of those 3-4 multimission missions and the others on some of the really busy planes, and i got the more
missions per location mod and i like to see ifni can clear all without needing to pause for repairs.
Im trying in my cold storage to collect one of everything, either a repaired mech i ran that is not retired or if it is salvage i never fielded, im weird and i know it hut im trying to collect beheaded mechs as i usually just head hint with gauss, i think i am 3/4 the way there.
But the restore stats mod makes that so much easier for those times i want to bust out a specific mech i dont normally use.and not have to rebuild it. Its on nexus and iirc its by BobbertModdert.
Theres a reason to everything, dig the question before jumping to the conclusion that "im stupid".
Why am i even bothering to answer to someone like him seriously. Narrow minded people are a waste of time :D

First dedicated run through of the game right now and I have 20 mechs in cold storage and when I start off with single contracts knowing Im going to a Mulitple contract I take out the mechs in preparation and Rig them accordingly. Once I'm done with the contracts I place them back into the cold storage and I dont PAY A SINGLE UPKEEP.
Ya'll are just dumb seriously.
But if the maintenance cost could be Adjusted, Capped, or even removed... that would be awesome
From all 40 slots, im saving 8 slots for the salvaged mechs, im taking all good parts and im selling the remain of the mech. it takes time, and space. Even if YAML has a setting to prevent mechs to lose their loadouts in cold storage, it doesn't prevent them to lose their Upgrades... and it takes a lot of time and money to restore it everytime.
Nit criticizing, but what are you doing in your game to make you want more than 40 mechs on hand at a time?
