Sneaking is Sus

Description
Guards will not like you sneaking around.

Sneaking in and around towns is a bit suspicious. So you're not allowed to do that anymore, unless you're good at sneaking and they can't see you.
(Now you can sneak in towns without getting attacked instantly as per request and commission)

Sneaking is pretty OP, and so this mod is to stop sneaking from being something you can max out to 100 with no effort. Now you need at least some effort.

That's awesome. I will send you the bounty to your PayPal, thank you sir!

I shall claim that bounty. The mod now allows what you requested. Thanks!

If there are any issues with it, let me know and I'll sort it out.

$50 bounty to whoever makes the in-town reaction to sneaking less severe. I get caught sneaking 1 second and the guards will aggro me repeatedly even if I have been downed and gotten back up several times. Is it possible to at least not incur a bounty from it?

This would be perfect if they gave warnings in the city like they do for trespassing.

I disagree 100% with "If you get warned the mod looses it's meaning". Sneaking is sus, not an overt assassination attempt on Lord Tengu himself, in broad daylight, in the middle of town.

Getting spotted trying to sneak shouldn't instantly aggro the entire city and surrounding locale. It should be met with a "stop that" and THEN it be considered a crime. The frame work is already there for trespassing. You could make the "stop doing that" timer super short. like 1-2 seconds and then they all aggro.

I also 120% disagree with sneaking being sus, at all, outside of towns. It is a harsh, unforgiving, world in Kenshi and I often sneak to avoid hostiles but almost never steal. Obviously this isn't inside a town, but it shouldn't be any of the guards dang concern if I am crouch walking around a sand dune or in the middle of a jungle if it's outside their walls.

I get that ultimately it's your mod. You do you. But there is a reason so many people are pointing this out as an issue and asking for options.

I discovered an issue where some NPCs are being caught in Sho-Battai for theft, even though no theft occurred. Strangely, it mostly happens to Tech Hunters.

can't you offer a light version where in towns warning are given initially and outside towns it's deactivated?

(that said, this does kind of open up a strategy where one fast runner can crouch to bait the guards into chasing them, then the actual thief can steal valuables at their leisure, not sure if that was intentional or not)

Cool idea, but accidentally crouching for a fraction of a second causes the entire town to collapse on my ass harder than Whiterun on a chicken puncher. It's like prison - the moment you bend down, everyone wants a piece of you. Shopkeepers sprint from their stores, gladly leaving their valuables unguarded for a chance to sprint several kilometers into untamed wilderness. Bar patrons abandon their drinks in a mad rush to be beaten over the head by cannibals beyond the gates of World's End. Shit, even the Shinobi Thieves rush out the moment they hear someone might have tried to move around without wearing a suit of plate armor that clanks like a Beak Thing's dinner bell. Isn't stealing their grift? Or have they abandoned half of their moniker and decided to clean drains instead, like Coca-Cola?

10/10 would crouch in a major city again, just wait until they hear about the Slav squat

Not at all, it's for everyone to enjoy in any way they see fit. Have a good one!
