Description
Welcome the minotaur to the Rim with open arms with this expanded module of Roo's Minotaur Xenotype. Battle or befriend multiple minotaur factions, build your own army of bovine hoplites and flesh out your pawns with brand new backstories and apparel. There’s been some changes for the 1.5 update, check out the change log here.

⚠️ This mod must be loaded after the core module: Roo's Minotaur Xenotype.

Two minotaur factions emerge from the rubble of the Rim: A Hellenic minotaur tribe known for its delicious food, culture and abundance of lovin’, and a not-so-tender outlander faction established by minotaur with a cross to bear against “fleshbeasts”, or as we know them, humans.

















The Hellenic culture is appreciated by minotaur tribes and comprises of unique pawn names, deities and ideologies. You can also adopt this culture within your own colony and construct your own Hellenic tribe of whatever xenotype you like.



The Bovine culture is a combination of what you might see in Kriminul and Rustican factions with a minotaur twist. Names and depictions within this culture are inspired by the minotaurs’ modern portrayal in modern games, books and TV.



This mod adds a couple of weapons inspired by Ancient Greek legends. They can be wielded by all kinds of pawns, not just Herculean ones, and should you make enemies with either minotaur faction, you’ll be sure to come nose-to-blade with more than one of these weapons on the battlefield.




Both new factions have their own selection of hairstyles. Though they've been designed with the minotaur in mind, they're perfectly compatible with baseliners and other xenotypes.

The Hellenic minotaur faction also flaunt their own unique wardrobe, comprised of chitons, hoplite helmets and the fabled set of armour; the Panoply. Minotaur outlanders, on the other hand, will wear cowbell collars and other items of urban clothing.




Not sure where to begin? Want to experience all that the minotaurs have to offer? This mod comes with three tailored starting scenarios, fresh and re-balanced for the 1.5 update. If you’re keen to see what kind of powers the fabled Herculean weapons have, consider trying The Poverty Tourists scenario, as your starting pawns will begin with one of these tools of destruction in their possession from the get-go.

Q: I'm experiencing a bug.
A: Visit the bugs discussion page and see if this bug has already been addressed.

Q: Do I need any other mods to use this?
A: Only Harmony, the Biotech DLC and Roo's Minotaur Xenotype are needed to use this mod.

Q: I can’t find any fabled weapons.
A: Consider making enemies with the minotaur factions and looking out for these weapons during raids. Or look out for late-game traders if you'd prefer to stay allied.

Q: Why is the mod split into two versions?
A: Nobody likes mod bloat. The core version of Roo’s Minotaur Xenotype is perfect if you just want the new xenotype; the expanded version is great for players who want a more immersive experience or want minotaurs to be the focus of their playthrough. Make sure to download the core version first if you're using this mod.

I'm just gonna copy over what they said in the discord for people asking: Life is extremely busy for Roo and it'll probably be awhile until it updates to 1.6

There is a bug that babies with herculean gene (trait is not visible but it still impacts them) cannot use cribs :btd6thumbsup:

i have found out that this is possibly caused by vehicle framework because when i deactivate that mod it works again, load order has no impact sadly

i found a bug where if choosing the tribal minotaur scenario with the custom starter structure the game gets stuck on infinitly generating the map on creation, i am also not getting any errors to see what might be causing it

Kinda broke my current 1.4 playthrough, when it updated from 1.4 to 1.5, which is pretty unfortunate. Thanks for returning to it though!

Unexpected update while i was configuring out my mods O_O..

At least it's in 1.5 now, wish it retained the 1.4 as well.

Thank you! I'm not going to lie I love your mods so much I have waited to start a new run of Rimworld. The Minotaur, Fawn, and Satyr are just a fun aesthetic.
