One thing I always wanted to do but never could bring myself to do is overhaul the Empire faction in the Royalty DLC. For such a mysterious, powerful entity in the political sphere of RimWorld, there is surprisingly little content around them. When I wanted to make a Royalty focused playthrough, I quickly realized it’s just a ‘normal playthrough’ with ‘royalty sprinkles’ - so not really what I wanted.

So I did what I do best and sat down with my trusty google docs to design a complete overhaul to the Empire faction that will finally allow you to feel like a proper imperial nobility. From intrigues and art exhibitions, to hunting down deserters and protecting from the acts of terrorism, with this mod you can really make an Empire-centric playthrough and make a play for the Imperial throne.

With new permits, structures, apparel, vassalage system, royal honors, Great Hierarchy and titles, this mod is a powerhouse for those wanting to roleplay as the Imperial family, but it will also work just as well for people who only want one or two nobles in their colony.

For obvious reasons this mod requires Royalty DLC.


















































































Using RuntimeGC or any mod that clears world pawns will result in the Great Hierarchy being broken. Use ‘Regenerate Great Hierarchy’ dev option if that happens.

Q: Does this mod add Deserter content? Can I fight the Empire?
A: No, this is VFE-Empire, not VFE-Deserters. Being hostile to the Empire makes 95% of the content in this mod disabled.

Q: Is this mod save game compatible?
A: Yeah! You can’t remove it after you add it though!

Q: It doesn’t make sense lore-wise that XYZ.
A: Ok, you do you.

Q: I don’t see the Royalty menu button at the bottom of my screen!
A: You need to join the Empire by gaining a titled pawn for the Great Hierarchy UI to become accessible.

Q: Is this mod compatible with Combat Extended?
A: Yeah!

Q: Does this mod work with Medieval playthroughs?
A: No, Royalty is an Ultratech faction.

@Hadley Eltex is from Vanilla Psycasts Expanded, not from VFE - Empire.

I noticed that this mod says that it includes the Royal Shuttle skin, but I never activated it and I still have that skin on my games, is it a bug or is that skin also in Textures Expanded or another VE mod?

Not that I mind, I'm just curious.

Is it normal that the Royal Ascent quest is triggered at Archon title? wasn't it supposed to need stellarch title?

Is the Janissary Cuirass really intended to offer 30% vacuum resistance, given that it doesn't actually cover the whole body?

So i'm getting a weird bug. Everytime my gravship lands at a new locations the ammo from the turrets added by this mod disappears from both the turret and the attached ammo box. I am playing with Combat Extended as well.

Holy shit, I fixed it by putting a party spot in the throne room. Apparently having a party spot elsewhere caused the bestower to try the ceremony in the party room instead of the throne room. Hope this helps anyone else who has this issue.

Does anyone else have issues where you can't get a higher title because your throne room "doesn't meet the requirements?"

I have a Baron with a perfect throne room. I have an acoylte who is trying to be promoted and even though the throne room meets the requirements (and is even higher!) the option is still greyed out with a warning that the throne room does not meet requirements!

Worse, it doesn't tell me WHY it doesn't meet the requirement. I even tried building a new throne room in dev mode and it still didn't work.

The same throne room worked to promote another pawn all the way up to Baron. Why is it suddenly not working for this knight?

the "royal visit" quests dont propperly count pawns during royal visits, they always send one more than the quests states, specifically extra nobles
