Description

A whole new mob type
Their main activity is lurking around in the Constant and aggro on players around them. They climb out of the ground endlessly and randomly, but there are few tricks to fight against them and even benefit of them.

Health: 125
Damage: 15
Negative Sanity Aura: -20/min

They can be staggered (making them cancel their attacks) if you deal 50 or more damage to them.

They don't get on well with light

Zombies can be stunned with any form of light source. When they are „stunned” they stuck in the insanity headache animation as long as they are in the radius of the light. Once they are out, they continue their last task.

Zombie types

There are four type of zombies:
- Grey brain - They hate any type of light
- Red brain - They hate natural and fire-related light
- Blue brain - They hate artificial light
- Brainless ones - They are immune to any type of light

Zombie Brain

Zombies prioritize brains over everything. If there’s a brain item on the ground, all nearby zombies lose aggro and rush to pick it up. Consequently, if a player carries a brain in their inventory, they rush to kill the player as well. In both cases, they recklessly continue the chase until the brain has been picked up by them or the brain carrier player has been killed and the carried brain has been eaten.

The brain can be eaten by both the player and the zombies. It restores 15 Hunger and decreases Sanity by 40.

Brainless zombies won't eat brains, instead they put it in their own skulls, transforming themselves into a grey brain zombie.

Zombie Arm


All zombies have a chance to drop a Zombie Arm item when they die. It can be used both as a weapon and as a Crockpot filler - even if it has the same effect there as a Monster Meat.

This is the only item that zombies can pick up as well and use as a weapon.
It deals 45 damage to mobs and 65 damage to players (if used by another player) as a weapon with 75 uses.

Brainstaff



Players can craft a new item, the Brainstaff. While it's equipped, the spawn rate of the zombies highly increases around the wielder and - just like with the regular brain item - they will start to chase the carrier.

However, during these chases, zombies can set up themselves so much that they will go and attack any other non-zobmie mob they can find.

The staff deals 50 damage when used as a weapon. It spoils, but doesn't lose durability from attacks. Brainless zombies can use it to put a grey brain into their skulls - destroying the staff in the process.

Zombie Drops



- One brain (if they have one)
- 1-3 Monster Meat
- 0-1 Bone shards
- 0-1 Zombie Arm

Thriller Night

During full moon, all zombies do the dance emote until sunrise. They only stop it if they have been hit.

Behaviour around other mobs

Zombies won’t attack and can’t become aggro targets to any mob except:
- If the player attacks a zombie with a companion, the companion can attack the zombie (like a befriended pigman, Kronk, etc.)
- If a mob accidentally damages a zombie with an area damage effect, the zombie will attack the damage dealer (keeping the sinkhole movement). The target mob is able to counterattack.
- Zombies don’t help each other. If a zombie has been attacked, the other zombies won’t
bother to help. They have individual aggro triggers.

Updates

2023.03.23.: Zombie aggro range and spawn restriction around structures is now configurable. WX78's light module added to Blue Brain Zombie light list. Improved Zombie AI about their behaviour around walls and fences.
V1.0.: The mod has been published, collecting feedback.

If you experience any performance problems while using the mod, please, report your experience and try to reduce the zombie density at the configuration settings.

Hey mate,
may i say i adore this mod, makes the game challenging again.
i was wondering if you could add an aggressive target setting to their behaviour
like a true zombie apocalypse the zombies eat everything till nothing remains

Ho, and the same issue is on some others mod page you made, just in case you wish to refresh them all, like "Conductor's Chaos", but I didn't check them all ^^"

Again, Thanks for all this mod, I love so many of them, and the art are amazing, with original idea on top of that (the ever dagger is so fun! and pocket stomach too).

Well, it still the same and I now why in fact :TheRedCrownEvil:
I'm sure you can see them when you are looking the mod page, and maybe even peoples who are on your discord server ;)

I just right clic on broken image icon to see where the link pointing, and it's start by:
- https://media.discordapp.net [...]

It's doesn't work the same as the thumbnail image or theses at first with the slider.
They are like on discord, forum, reddit, etc, when you copy/past a link, and because it's from a Discord Server, only people on this one can see them on the mod page, the others will see a broken image icon.
(Maybe there is something about the Discord Server being private, with password to join or something like this, but it doesn't change anything, it's still a potential problem)

I usually use imgBB for this and work without issue, just be sure to select "no auto suppression", it must be already selected by default, but who knows...

For info, I don't know why, but the image of this mod, and others from same author have broken links, it would be cool to refresh them because it can let some players think that the mod is not supported anymore or doesn't work, who is wrong !

Very cool but need option to control spawn time, for example only at night/dusk/day or dusk+night, or to make them slow at day and fast at another time. Also would be great if it is possible to do something with their AI, cause it looks like they freeze/stop(?) during chase
