Description
Play as the progenitors of Lithuania, Gediminas and Vytautas; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The Lithuanians descend from various Balt peoples and among the last of the ethnicity, their enduring kin being the Latvians. The Rus' civilization collapsed under the pressure of the Mongols, the fractured principalities of Ruthenia would pay dividend to their Tatar overlords. As Mongols and Tatars after them encroached into Russia, the Baltics were threatened by Germans and Danes in the west. Tribal in organization, the various Balt people unified as the Teutonic Order and its scion the Livonian Brethren laid waste upon the Baltic in the Northern Crusade. Mindaugas was the first and only recorded king of the Lithuanians, subsequent leaders would take the title of Grand Duke. The first Grand Duke, Gediminas, would lead his warbands into the the former Kievan Rus' in an effort to assemble a polity strong enough to defend his homeland against the German threat. While he remained a believer in the old religion, Gediminas commanded the respect of bishops throughout Europe until he gained Papal recognition. Later dukes would continue his policy of controlling Rus', the most notorious being Vytautas the Great who acted as regent of the entire polity. After Vytautas, the later Gediminid-Jagiellonian dynasty would inherit the Polish; securing the future of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Lithuania would eventually stand as a sovereign republic twice in the 20th century and going forward into the 21st century after centuries of surviving Polonisation and Russification.

I've been thinking about changing how Lithuania interacts with terrain, @Nightmare576. Belarus, which is right next to Lithuania on TSL, has bonuses to marshes. Either of these two civs will concentrate on either woods or marsh in their next update. They will probably be updated at the same time.

No bonuses towards marshes? otherwise pretty good but Lithuania has been very marsh-like

Hi Strudeler, thanks for the response!

My guess is that I misunderstood the ability text. My civ has a majority religion and my enemy also has that same religion as a majority religion (displayed in the victory screen). Does the +7 buff require my enemy to have a different majority religion from me (like Philip's ability?) Because the text reads "Land military units gain +7 Combat Strength against religious enemies ." I interpreted this to mean "if opponent has any majority religion, then Lithuania gets +7 cs against them (regardless of Lithuania's religion or lack thereof)". If it is supposed to be only against civs with a different majority religion, then the ability text should probably be reworded.

Thanks for the mod nevertheless. I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to trying the other leader too!

    Dear @Knoblauch,

The combat strength without text should from an alliance as that modifier does not a modifier string (assigned text). The religious ability is identical to Philip II's ability and it would have text if it works correctly. These are separate abilities (stackable) and it sounds like the alliance buff is working as it does not have text (just like how Gilgamesh does not have a modifier string).

Do you have a religion that encompasses 51% or so of your civilization? Does the enemy have a different majority religion? When a unit from an enemy unit dies, does it spread your majority religion? That ability is separate too, but it would indicate that there is a majority religion. The victory screen would also indicate if there is a majority religion.

    Best Regards,
    Strudeler Tartz

Are the combat bonuses supposed to stack? In my game, I am fighting against a religious opponent and they are also at war with my ally, but I am only getting +7 CS. The combat text doesn't say where this +7 is coming from, so I'm not sure if the religion-buff or ally-buff is not applying.

I did everything I could to make sure Vytautas would not be as painful as Mvemba, @Jibielli.
