SA MAD Mk.XVa "Sauger" Steam Powered Airship

Overview:

The Sauger is the first airship designed by Stratos Aeronautics, and has proven itself in the time since its conception as the Mk Ia through to the Mk XIIa. The airship is designated as a medium artillery destroyer and is well suited for a variety of fire support roles, but in the hands of a skilled crew, it is capable of going toe to toe with other airships.
Out of the Stratos airships the Sauger has undergone the most iterations and changes, resulting in a highly refined, versatile, and resilient aircraft, fit to be the flexible workhorse of any fleet. The development of the airship has been a long time in the making so we sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Instructions:

Startup Procedure

• 1 In the Boiler Room, turn the Systems key and the Light key
  
• 2 Find the Engineer’s Position in the Flight Deck on the lower port side
  
• 3 Turn the Gyro key and the Instruments key
  
• 4 Press the Toggle All and Up All buttons on the Engineer’s Panel
  
• 5 Set the Forward Throttle lever to full located at the top left of the panel
  
• 6 It will take a little bit for the boiler to heat up and start producing steam, at which point the turbines will begin to spin up the propellers.
  
• 7 Wait until the aft-most landing gear lifts off of the ground and the aircraft starts to pitch forwards, then set the “gear” lever to -1 to retract landing gear. Now the aircraft should be flying.

Maneuver Modes

• “Action 1 Key” + “W” Activates forward flight mode
  
• “Action 1 Key” + “S” Activates reverse flight mode
  
• “Action 1 Key” + “Up” Puts the airship into a fast vertical climb
  
• “Action 1 Key” + “Down” Puts the airship into a steep 80 knot dive

MASL Signal Locator
The MASL instrument panel is located on the right side of the radio operator's station, and can be used to find the range and direction of a radio signal’s transmission location. The system can only really be used effectively when the target signal is a constant transmission, so MASL is meant for locating friendlies who are broadcasting their location.
-Operation instructions:
I - to get accurate results it's necessary to go to the propulsion turbine compartment, and turn on both “charge grid” breakers, and turn off both “charge batteries” breakers.
II - set the radio frequency to the frequency you want to locate a signal on
III- the upper left gauge on the MASL instrument panel labeled “signal source vector” represents how close the direction the signal is coming from, is to the front or back of the vessel. 1 being direct front, 0 being direct left or right, and -1 being direct back.
IV - turn the vessel until the “signal source vector” gauge reads as close to 1 as possible. Once it does, you are pointing towards the signal source.

Damage Control:

Almost All Components are Fully Repairable
damage control equipment is located on the roof of the boiler room.
turbines, valves, and pumps can be reached via exterior catwalks inside the turbine supports.
Repressurization of the boiler
use the repressure button to fill the boiler to 17L.
