European One / Lizard F16

Following the end of American involvement in the Vietnam War, the US Air Force searched for an effective, general use camouflage pattern to replace the many regional patterns then in use. After testing, they settled on "European 1", a pattern consisting of a grey, a light green, and a dark green for TAC and SAC Aircraft. The pattern evolved over time as slightly different colors were substituted in and it was in use until the post Desert storm period, when all-over grey was adopted for all aircraft.

This livery is based on the last version of European 1 (sometimes called Lizard or Pickle), that being the Nellis AFB F16Cs participating in the "A16" ground attack trials in the mid 1990s. No national insignia. Excellent visual camouflage pattern for low level use.
