Rescue and Supply run mission

Description
Scenario that has an easy start but a good challenge to finish

In this scenario, you have to live in space surrounded by pirates. but need to go to the planets to get materials to finish the missions.

Storyline
A generational interstellar ship is in travel to a faraway star system. But it needs to stop at this system to replenish its resources and do some maintenance. before the next step of the journey

You have been sent in advance to this system, to gather the resources it needs for the next step
But when you arrived in the system, you received a distress signal from a civilian cruise ship. the Space law (similar to maritime law) indicates that you must render assistance.

You have 2 missions
1: Rescue 10 life-pods from a crashed ship on the moon before they run out of air or power.
-you do not know the exact location the only information is at the pole of the moon and it has a 2km wide antenna online
- Once you rescued them you need to maintain them for the rest of the mission by feeding them air and power. If you need to modify them think as if they have an engineer inside you cut the air or the power for more than a few seconds before the die
- you will need to bring them with you to the supply run station

2: You need to gather resources for An interstellar generational ship that will be arriving at this star system and bring them to the station where it will make a stop in the future

The first mission you need to do in less then 12 hrs but the second mission is very long so if it's too long you may want to cut he amounts of resources you need to gather n half

Challenges
-There are no asteroids in the system. To gather resources you will need to either mine on planets and the moon or salvage pirate ships and deconstruct the components.

-The ore map is different from vanilla. I am using Better Deep Scarce Stone

- Only 1 moon is present. Titan and Europa are absent.

-The alien planet is not there, it has been replaced by Thanatos. It has every type of ores in good quantity but has higher gravity, hellish weather, infested with spiders. And this is where rust mechanics is the most active. A great place for a vacation

-On every planet (not the moon) there is a microorganism that activates the rusting of all material quickly
(using rust mechanics on steroids settings)

- Infested with all kinds of pirates with crews: Assert, Reavers, Orks, Cylons
Also, note that you sometimes see hostile crew members stranded on the planets and they ha riffles.

-Be careful of reentry in an atmosphere you have aerodynamics at play and the speed limits have been changed (350 small ships and 250 large ships)

To help you
you start in a safe zone with full access to a fully functional space station and escape shuttle
The station is in low heart gravity (0.3G at about 18km in the sky) of the earth like planet limiting the type of pirates
and prevent it from rusting.

The safe zone is an admin safe zone, you do not have a safe zone block. The safe zone configuration is very permissive you can build and grind in it. but no collision damage or weapon damage in it.

A few mods to add a few blocks like Revco+ and Seismic Surveying to compensate for the rarity of ores.

the space station has
2 full refineries (not upgraded) and
1 assembler upgraded for speed
2 large cargo and a 5 small cargo
1 small reactor (only 10kg of uranium) 16 solar panels,
(it's using a solar alignment script but you can adapt it using 2 custom turret controllers)
It has some ingots of every type (not much) for some minor modification
Note: it doesn't have a medic bay or survival kit but enough silver to build one

The escape shuttle

Survival kit
H2/O2 gen
1 Oxygen Tank
2 batteries
2 solar panels
54 small hydrogen tanks
1 medium cargo

Hints /Tips

Uranium is very hard to at get the beginning. use it very sparingly. Some Ork ships and Reavers have a small quantity of it.

Keep your ship in space when not in use or it will rust away.

Rust doesn't apply in a safe zone: you may want a ship that can deploy one on Thanatos while you mine there.

To get resources you can mine for them, disassemble enemy ships and wrecks or go to traders' stations to buy resources directly or buy ships and salvage them for parts


Here is my assessment of the enemy factions and what resources they give

Note that all Ion thrusters are NPC thrusters so they will not give you any platinum or gold

Assert only the basic: iron, nickel, and silicon parts. Very little in the cobalt
They are a medium risk (with all the escort drones) but very low loot from them

Reavers: the basic + some have jumpdrives so some gold and they usually have a couple of small reactors with under 15 Kg of uranium in them so some silver and uranium
They are medium to high risk (depending on the type of spawn), but give a medium reward

Orks: Many have parts of the hull made of heavy armor, Some have jumpdrives and most have reactors the biggest have 2 jumpdrives and 2 large reactors with more uranium in
But they are heavily armed So they are high-risk and high-reward


Cylons: the hull is mostly heavy armor, The large grids have jumpdrives and some large reactors with lots of uranium in them, so you can get all the cobalt you will need out of them and also a good part of the uranium
The armament is lacking because the Mod NPC weapon upgrade seems to be having a problem with them
Next time I will only use them in a scenario with WC mod
For now, they are low-risk high reward

A bit more picture there.

I basicaly decided to create a base there and defend it whie i salvage the cruiser. I also made an escape pod to store the 10 cryotubes.

Nice small ship design, I took the pods back to the starter station and connected them to it for the power and oxygen so they are safe until I am ready to get out of there.

I salvaged the wreck for the parts because it was i bit too big for my need and use them to build smaller ships but if you want to repair her as she was this is where I took the BP for her:

She just got a new paint job before she crashed.

Good luck on the second mission getting uranium from Thanatos is a real pain and needs some thought.

So the ten guys are no safe... well wont die from lack of O2 or power... but still need to decide what to do... try nbuilding a support for the ten of them and bring them away from the moon ot try to repair the crashed ship.... unsure... yet... Still the perimeter is securised I put a few interior turrets around the wreck to keep the toasters away... .... need to picture it and decide what's next... Excate and salvage the wreck... dismantle and transfer the pods on another ship...... mmhh dunno...
