Sanctuary Island

Description
About
Are you an average extraction looter enjoyer? Or simply just want to kick back, relax, and build your base after a long day at work? Then this mod is for you.

This mod can provide you with a separate map from the main map, along side with an easy way to go back and forth whenever you need.

How to fast travel
Going to the island
You are required to have a battery powered radio to request your way to the island. Once you have one in hand:
- Simply equip the radio (if it is handheld) and power it on
- Right click the radio in the inventory and selec "Request extraction"
- This will trigger the character to perform a ~30 seconds action, which on cancelled will also cancel the entire extraction process

- After the first action is completed, you will have 20 more seconds to get out by right clicking on the radio again, and choose "Extract to Sanctuary". After this action is completed, you can no longer extract and will have to request another extraction

Going back to the world
Simply right cliking anyone on the island and choose "Return to world", and it will take you right back to where you extracted.

Balancing
- A lot of people will say that it will make this game much easier. I agree. That's why I added a guaranteed helicopter event whenever you request an extraction. In This way, it takes more consideration for players when they want to go back to the island.

- The 30 seconds mechanic also serves as the anti-combat log measure, forcing players to find a safe, out of town spot to request an extraction

- The island will have zero zombie spawn, at all time, but in return, you neither can fish (yes, I intentionally did not put any water) nor foraging. The only sustainable thing that you can do is farming, which is acceptable, because it is way more tedious to do.

- If you still feel like this is way too easy, just crank up the difficulties for the zombies, the 30 seconds window before the extraction might do it

Recommended sandbox settings
- I definitely recommend making loot spawn more often, as well as zombies, so that you will get more of a "raid" feeling everytime you return to the world
- While this is multiplayer-compatible, I recommend playing it in singleplayer, as there can only be one helicopter event at the time

- Size: 1 cell by 1 cell (300x300)
- Location: Cell 0:14

State of the mod
- Currently, B42 procedural generated stuff that the devs are doing seems to get in the way having the island on the map, either skill issue on my part or not yet available. I won't be making any progress on this anymore, thank you everyone for using it!

okay so I tried to move this over to B42, but it seems like the procedural generation that they are doing messes with the map I made. I will maybe check back on this later, but for now, I have decided that it's not worth doing until at least B42 out of unstable. Sorry folks :er_sad:

IIRC, I thought the island is surrounded by water...? I remember thinking about adding a lake too, but it was a waste of space, considering that the island is surrounded by water. I could be wrong

Would love this for B42. Though maybe an alternative easy mode version with a little pond? Or even a small island in the middle of an ocean would be kinda neat. :jake::steamthumbsup:

a list of teleports when you leave your island sandbox option would also be really cool for extraction enthusiast.

can i suggest a setting that creates a time limit before airborne infection sickness sets in? sort of like a storm effect. climbing sickness after the allotted time that when hits 100% you turn?

That's interesting. I haven't put too much thoughts into implementing this mod, but I think it might be a great addition to it. I'll have to see if it's possible first.

This leads me to a suggestion - a "Heavy Extraction" that [only] works while in a vehicle, which schedules 3 helicopter events over the next several minutes - two are "scouting" for the LZ (read: attracting zombies) and the third is the actual extraction, that takes you and your vehicle to Sanctuary.

(I just want to use Skizot's vehicles with their extra fancy features, lol)

So i've run into an amusing bug with this; while exploring a personal curiosity about seeing if I could extract while in a vehicle, because I wanted to try using Skizot's mower on Sanctuary if at all possible, and it seems [partially] possible to some extent - I was able to successfully "extract", and could briefly see myself and my vehicle in the middle of sanctuary, but alas it immediately made me exit the sanctuary... whereupon it duplicated my vehicle and balanced me on top of it. I can't get out of the vehicle at all, though I could accelerate, decelerate, and reverse to wriggle a bit and then get stuck on the hood of the dupe vehicle, still unable to exit. (No valid space to exit into).

aye no problem, i would adore having this, especially for my winter survival custom set up, it'd be a great way to add some real proper survial style feels to it
